xb9s 03 last week idle was hunting, 800-1100. i adjusted it a hair over 1000 cold start and idle is good. now i have a massive hole between 4000-5000. Full throttle at 4k and the bike does not even move. if i get it over 5000 power is back ? No CEL, Would a TPS reset fix this, if not other things to check ? Bike has 6k on it, at 5 i changed oil, plugs, filters and it has been running like a champ (i did have to replace the temp sensor aound 3k) thanks |

How did you adjust idle speed? The correct way is using the knob at the front of the bike; the wrong way is to adjust the throttle plate stop screw. If you did the latter, you messed up the throttle position setting and would require a TPS reset procedure. TPS zero reset is normally done at 10k intervals but could be done more often if driveability problems arise. You should ride the bike at 3 to 3.5k rpms in the top gears for about 10 minutes or so. This will normalize the AFV (related to the O2 sensor) setting and may fix your problem. |

U used the knob at the front. I have ridden then bike around 3200 for a while time to do this, thanks. I thought is was weird that my idle started hunting thus I readjusted (too high the first time) a few times. Idle is good, revs return to normal when stopping but now I have this giant hole betwn 3-4k. Full throttle just boggs betw those rpms. |
