I have about 6000 miles on mine and run syn 3 oil. My fan comes on and stays on after about 20 minutes of riding even if its in the 60's temp. Is this normal? Figured it would come on but not in conditions like this. | ||

I'm on a XB12Ss and that fan always came on and just stayed on even If I was out on a night with temps in the 50's... Ever since I popped on the Drummer, the frequency of the fan coming on has dropped dramatically and often it shuts off while sitting at a red light. Very cool cause that never ever happened before. | ||

What drummer you running, the original or the economy? Did you get the race ecm, or remap the stock, or do nothing except install the drummer? Any loss in power in the low or upper range? | ||

I went with the Original Drummer. Stock ECM and Filter based on recommendations from Kevin (the man who makes them) as well as JerseyGuy here on the forum. I even did the swap myself. I've had it on for 2 weeks/1k miles and its the best thing I could have done. This is now the bike that I imagined when I first read about it. It growls and generally sounds like a thunderstorm coming down the ave. The fan usage dropped big time. The engine seems to rev up much easier and those are the only claims I can make. There is enough debate out there about performance so I will steer clear of that topic. You can read all about it by doing a "Drummer" search. The bike sounds so amazing now that it often just leaves people speechless. | ||

My 9R's fan always came on even in the dead of winter when its was less than 20 degrees out. | ||

After I went over 10,000 miles the fan comes on less while riding, and sometimes not at all after I shut it off. 53,000 miles now, and the fans seems to run only when it's really hot out, and stuck in traffic. Oh, and it comes on after a ride if I have a passenger, that part hasn't changed. I run Syn3. | ||

Here it comes. Add a RSS and the fan will rarely come on when riding. Huge improvement irregardless of what the doubters say. Tricking the temp sensor, you guys kill me, Next thing ya know it will have a sense of humor. |
