Here's the story....I switched out my faceplate, following careful instructions, and everything seemed to go fine. However when I plugged my gauges back up, and turn the key to On, the speedo clicks counterclockwise a bit before doing the clockwise-counterclockwise sweep, ultimately leaving the speedo needle about 1/3 of the way around the gauge counterclockwise from the 0 mark. The tach functioned correctly. I took it back apart, pulled the needles again, replaced and hooked the gauges with the cover off up to the bike. Now the speedo worked correctly (as well as the tach). I screwed the cover on and mounted it to my bike...and it started having the same problem. Has anybody else had this problem? I don't know what would cause the servo motor to skip in the wrong direction and effectively reset it's stop position. Any ideas? As it is I have to click the key On-Off 3 times to get the needle to sit at the correct position so I can ride it. bama |

Alex By your description it sound like you have a binding problem with the face. Leave an o-ring/gasket out? Lens flexed inward? Distorting gauge case when lens is installed? That is what I would be looking at. Joe |
