Just installed the Jardine carbon fiber exhaust. Some thoughts: 1) The stock muffler is REALLY hard to remove. 2) The instructions were hard to understand. 3) The hardest part was installing the parts that the fairing reattaches to. 4) The oil line that has to be removed is hard to reinstall without gushing out about a quart of my expensive synthetic oil. 5) Jardine claims this kit fits the Uly, but prepare to modify one of the parts in order finish. 6) Sounds a LOT LOUDER than stock. The "Harley Thump" is really noticeable. Louder than all but the most obnoxious Harley's you hear. 7) Looks really cool. 8) Not so loud at idle, but barks at the slightest touch. 9) pop Pop POp POP! When decelerating. 10) Feels faster low and mid revs, but runs out of breath at high RPMs (I need to modify my intake, suggestions?) 11) Did I mention it POPs when decelerating? 12) People stare at me now.

Keep that thing well packed. It will self destruct if it goes long without packing. I generally talk people out of the CF jardine because of durability concerns. It looks great, is light as a feather, but you have to coddle it a bit if you want it to last. Al |

I wasn't aware of the 'durability' concerns when I purchased the CF version. My brother-in-law (a master mechanic) has had a Jardine CF on his MZ for over 10,000 miles. Repacking it is a simple process that needs to be done every 5000 miles (or every other year)...A pain, yes, but not that big of a deal... |
