2001 had the early problems fixed - just suffers from (sometimes) faulty speedo sensor and rocker box gaskets. I've got the same bike with the same mods, 28K miles and I love it. Front suspension is not as adjustable as the other Buells. Easy to work on if you do your own wrenching. Price might be a little high, but I assume that number leaves bargaining room. |

I love my 2000 m2 and it has been updated with the 01 02 parts to fix some issues. With some tlc you will have one very enjoyable ride. |

Great bike, very flexible as far as what you want to do, my '00 is primarily a commuter but has been up the canyons often and out to the track. Have also done some long rides just as happily. Talk the price down a few hundred and enjoy the badweb community! (Sorry 'bout the wreck, hope you have recovered well) -Mike |

Oh yeah, almost forgot - beware the yellow and blue ones, they're just not as fast as the others...

don't know anything about the 01's having an 02 but they are the best buell ever built as far as i'm concerned. just took mine up to chattanooga from tampa and although my legs can't handle riding long distance, it's still a fun ride(600 miles) it handles great even two up riding(look at profile, this was back in march during march badness) and as far as the price, we got my buddy an 02 with 2600 miles on it for 3500. so good luck in making a deal and i hope it goes in your favor. you won't regret it. |

I was able to get a 2002 m2 with under 400 miles on it last year for $3500... been running flawlessly except for rocker box gasket leak and (since corrected) shifting problems from where previous owner dropped it. Awesome bike, but see if you can't get the price lowered some. |

I had a love/hate relationship with my M2. I loved riding it, but I hated fixing it. I probably spent almost as much time replacing gaskets as I did riding it. It was fun while it lasted, but I won't buy another one. I'll either rebuild my M2 with an S1 frame or just buy an S1 outright for the more aggressive geometry and better lean angle. |

Yep. I went too wide in a turn and had to lean the bike over further to tighten it up. I ran up hard on the foot peg and washed out the back tire. If you do get the M2, I highly recommend peg risers or rear sets. They could save your butt (or your ankle) in an emergency. |

The stock pegs on an M2 drag like a mofo. |

$4500 sounds like a premium price, btw. See if you can haggle. |

I got my YELLOW M2 With about 15000 miles for about $4000.00 with same amount of mods. I can't get any other Buell to fit like the M2 does. And the color DOES matter and the pegs are too low. Happy Buelling and Sliante!! Michael |

I got my 2000 YELLOW M2 also with about 15k miles for $3500. I've had to do a bit of work to it, but every time I pull out of my driveway on it, it makes all that work totally worth it. I haven't had to do anything major to it. Nothing that took more than a couple hours (including crank seal replacement). If I'd get a service manual like any sane person would do, the jobs would go even faster. I'm willing to do some work here and there, considering the fact that I've put 6000 great miles on it in the past 4 riding months. Peg risers would probably be a good idea.

M2's are the most bang for the buck out of all the tubers out there. $4500 sounds a little steep to me too. Wave $4000 cash in his face and see if he nibbles... |

M2's are the most bang for the buck out of all the tubers out there Not knocking M2's (I dig all tubers) but I got my 99 S3 with 5000 miles for $3,995.00 More power, Fuel Injection, inverted forks, higher pegs, more room for 2.... |

I got my 00 M2 (755 miles - yes, seven hundred fifty-five) for $3k flat. Bike was basically brand new and definately a steal. I think the answer is...ride a few, determine the diffs between the models and see which ride offers the most of what you want. As long as the mileage isnt too high and the price doesnt make your eyes pop out, it'll be worth it. Once again...Eengler's bike is THA SCHIZZ!!!!! If I only had 4k layin' around....c'mon lotto!!! *.*Buell for LIFE.*.* (Message edited by torquemonster on June 15, 2007) |

Unfortunately the money needs to go to the wife's dental work and hopefully some leftover for a Cafe build on my CB750. Checkout http://picasaweb.google.com/eengler2 for more pics of my bike. Eric |
