After almost dropping the bike turning left at a stop sign when it died on me and running some dirt this weekend I really think tippy toes is not the way to go for me. 5'9" with boots on is just not enough. Stock 06 Black seat with 1897 miles on it today, wondering if anyone wants to trade or make some kind of deal. But why not just buy the 07?..... Just found out that there will be 1 more addition to the family in about 8.5 months Send me a pm if interested please and thank you. Horr (Message edited by horridus on June 13, 2007) |

The 07 seats are only $110. We've had all three seats (06 stock, 06 low and now the 07 stock). The 07 stock is by far the most comfortable seat, especially for your passengers. Contact a sponsor and order you a seat! You won't be disappointed. |

Quick question. Pardon the thread hijack. My '06 Uly has the seat with the orange pillion section. Does the orange section designate it as a low seat? |

No - all three seats come in either all black or orange and black. Here are the three seats: 06 Stock
06 Low
07 Stock
Comparison side view
Back - 06 Stock Middle - 06 Low Front - 07 Stock Hope this helps. Carlos has a short inseam and says that the 07 is more of a step seat. The 07 seat is narrower than the 06 stock and doesn't have the irritating seams on the side that one of the 06 seats had (can't remember which one!) Hope this helps. |

Ulywife, thanks for the cool photo montage. I apparently have the '06 stock. It started to hurt my arse after about 150 miles, but then I realized I had a pocket knife and cellphone in one rear pants pocket, and a wallet in the other. Seriously, it is hands down the best stock seat I have ever sat on. It works for me seams and all. |

You must have longer legs than M2nc! He said it was comfy, but the reach sucked for him and made me very nervous considering my feet were probably 10-12" from the ground! I can't even reach the ground on the M2, you can only image me on the back of the 06 stock seat! |

I have both the 07 and the 06 low, and now after lowering the bike I have gone back to the 06low, I feel it is more comfortable than the 07, th 07 seems to have some divisions, hard lines that divide it into different riding sections, and they did not feel too good after awhile, also the 07 seems to have a longer rider area for the driver, in other words more room to move forward and backwards, i found that with this on hard acceleration I ended up too far back and having trouble reaching the bars, with the 06 low, the back of the seating area stops me in hard acceleration but it is forward enough that I have no trouble with the bars. I will retry the 07 in a couple of weeks to make sure I feel this way still |

Ulywife, I am a hair over 5'9" with a 31-32" inseam. I am at best on the balls of both feet when stopped. If I need to get better purchase, I just scoot to the side a bit and get the whole foot down. I'm OK with tall bikes. I got my start on dual sports. |

Carlos is 5'8" with a 29" inseam. The 06 stock seat didn't leave much, if any, room for error, dip in pavement, etc. I think that's the best thing about these bikes, with a little modification and different seat, there's something to please most everyone. I find it kinda funny that some of the guys with 07 Ulys are wanting the 06 Stock seat. I just sent ours to Florida_lime. |

I have an '06 stock seat in orange with 1100 miles on it collecting dust in the garage. I would be more than willing to trade for anything interesting or sell it if someone is looking for one. I will never use it again. For me it was one of the most uncomfortable seats I have ever planted my behind on. Drop me a pm if you want it. |

"...also the 07 seems to have a longer rider area for the driver, in other words more room to move forward and backwards, i found that with this on hard acceleration I ended up too far back and having trouble reaching the bars,...." I think we ought to add physical dimensions to our profiles. Cavi is smaller than I and that influences the above quote. I use the 07 seat BECAUSE it lets me sit farther back plus I have installed flatter bars to get the reach where I prefer it. So if you compare my 6'1" height, 35" arms and 32" inseam with Cavi's spces you'll understand our preferences. I don't think Buell set out to make so many different riding positions possible for a Uly but I'm glad they did. |

I too have a stock (tall) '06 seat (yellow/black) that I would trade for an '07 seat. |

I also have an 06 stock seat in orange collecting dust. I really like the 07 seat as does my wife. Dennis |
