Just traded my 2004 lightning for a ulysses with the hard side bags and trunk. Love the bike, the ride is much better and the bags are great-but after two weeks the latch broke on one side bag. The latch system is really easy to break, be very careful when closing the bags. There is an updated latch available from the bag company, $33.00 each. I order 2 just to keep one as a spare

Xb12lp,

Check the Big, Bad, and Dirty forum. There have been numerous posts on this subject. The factory had been sending these repair kits out for free. The main way that's been suggested to prevent breakage is to push the case completely closed and then secure the latch; don't rely on the latch to pull the case.
