"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence." - John Adams Unfortunately, sometimes one person's "facts" are really just vague innuendo or half-truths, "propaganda" set forth in support of a particular agenda. And sometimes, one persons "facts" are outright lies. No one here is lying and both sides of the issue of debate pretty much have their facts straight. It is in the analysis of those facts where the divide begins. On one side, displacement is all that matters. The other side recognizes that other major factors deserve serious consideration in comparing the performance of two differently configured engines. We can agree to disagree. How about those 500cc two-strokes whooping up on 600cc supersport machines? Even with a 20% advantage in displacement, the pathetically antiquated technology of current 600cc supersport repli-racer machines renders them unable to compete against the much older 500GP machines. |

>>>anybody heard from the little birdie lately? Yes. I think you'll be quite surprised and perhaps a bit stunned. Watch your back . . they may not be coming from where you think. |

I'd be checking buell.com around the same time. They always put the new models up online the same time as they show them to the dealers in person. You don't have too long to wait. Josh |

Well, I'm about ready to add to the stable again. I'll wait at least until Buell's new model year announcement in July. |

Yup, a friend of mine works at Buell and he mentioned something big was going to be announced to dealers soon. He wouldn't tell me what it was but from the little we talked, it sounds like a complete new water cooled engine is being made or will be use for Buell. |

The Buell General Session is scheduled for Sunday, July 8 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. in the Delta Ballroom of the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. Do they allow "onlookers"? Since the Buell gods will be in my back yard, I'd love to see them and be present for the meeting. |

Destroy, If you valued your friend's job, you wouldn't repeat what he's said to you. And if your friend valued his job, he shouldn't have told you anything. HD/Buell employees have, and will get dismissed for leaking such information. |

>>>HD/Buell employees have, and will get dismissed for leaking such information. In a heartbeat. I've watched 2 long time HD employees given 15 minutes to pack and being walked to the door. It's poor business. |

Huh. The direction you expect... Ok, I'll bite. People were guessing a Rotax engine, which is from (?) Austria. That means east of Milwaukee. if we instead go west, then eventually we hit the Far East... which is confusing. That could hint towards a [gasp] Japanese or even Korean engine. There are a good number of engine manufacturers who are not "exclusive". Then again, it could mean a domestic manufacturer like Ford or even GM. They certainly have the capacity and ability to crank out engines like link sausages. Hasn't Ford supplied certain components in the past? I just want something that is completely bitchin'. Is that too much to ask? |

Alrighty then, Please quantify the level of completely bitchin' it will reach: 1. Forced to carry an FDA warning label identical to those on Erectile Dysfunction drugs. 2. Makes grown men stop, drop, and weep caustic tears of pure envy. 3. Makes extraordinarily ugly men attractive to extraordinarily attractive women (and vice versa). 4. Packaged with its' own theme music. Which ROCKS, naturally. 5. It will be banned in several countries as being a tool of moral corruption. This is not helped by the proposed name of the bike: Buell Diablo. 6. Makes the engineering staffs of other makers draw warm baths and strop their straight razors. 7. Causes Massimo Tamburini and Pierre Terblanche to suddenly- and simultaneously- come down with Tourette syndrome. |

This is the best thread of the year . . . I remember the excitement and speculation . . . will there be a Buell with an evolution motor or won't there. . . all 40 Buell owners in the world waited with baited breath for the RR-1200. . . still a favorite. To me it's like shaking xmas gifts before opening them . . . |

Depends which 6. I have one more myself, possibly the only one that really matters. 9. Justifies its purchase price to my wife. |

I'm still recovering from when the rumor got out that Buell may be dropping one of the carburetors. . . . I steadfastly, 99,950 bikes, later urge caution . . . I'm not sure you can sell a Buell without 2 carburetors. |

If this bike is as ridiculously cool as I suspect it might be, what is one to do? I'm just getting a new pipe put on the XB and I just love it. I don't think I could part with it. This makes Spike's addition to the "bitchin'" list rather crucial. I hope a street fighter variation will be available. I would hate to have to significantly modify a more race oriented bike. Can you justify two bikes to the wife? Are there arguments that could possibly sway them? |

Court - Here's my personal prediction for July based on nothing at all except my opinion. There will be a new Firebolt that is a water cooled, 1000 cc, gas in the frame, radiator under the seat, V Twin. The Lightning line will stay basically as it is with possibly some minor upgrades and cosmetics.
