Last Tuesday, the CA Assembly voted to make import of kangaroo products LEGAL - meaning you may be able to get more selection of kangaroo leather AND you can have the local shops MAKE you a custom suit for the first time. http://info.sen.ca.gov/pub/05-06/bill/asm/ab_0701- 0750/ab_734_cfa_20050422_144526_asm_comm.html Prior to this, you'd have to work around the law to import kangaroo leathers or products. Too early to tell what this means BUT since I wrecked my Z-Custom leathers AGAIN - I will have them repaired but asked Adolph at Z about his making kangaroo products, I'll see what he says. I've also been wanting a good set of lighter street 2-piece leathers and 'roo could do it. |

I'd bet we see steaks too. From all I've heard, the meat isn't bad BUT if they start importing - or raising them locally, we might start seeing GOOD eating - sort of like ostrich here. |

Dog food. Shoot it, clean it and give it to Fido (or unsuspecting tourists.) Great leather tho. I can jump 16 feet in my pants. |

D.D. That's great info, cow's don't jump much over here. Maybe that's why they don't slide as far as roo's do? -Mike |

There'd be a Roo shortage if most of the Buellers I know switch to Roo Leathers! Especially me! Now Ostrich and Roo farms here? Imagine what it would be like if a bunch of each got loose in the wild! Oh, thats right, I just looked out the window and got a reality check. No one here would notice. |

I had to jump 16 feet in my pants a few decades ago. Something to do with a girl I was "seeing" - a second floor window and an early arrival home by her father. |

I just read the bill. It basically says that roo shoes and products are availible in 49 of the 50 states. That would indicate that roo skins availible in all states now. So no need to wait "HOP" on it and get the roo leathers. |

Captain, the camel thing was one of the first imports here in Cali. It was tried by a military unit commanded by no less than Robert E. Lee in the 1850s. It's been said to have been a communist plot by those pesky southern separatists! Or was it that they already figured out what nuthouse Cali would turn into! I had to stop for some loose Lamas to cross the road just the other day. Had occasion to drive by the backside of a Ostrich farm late one nite. Buggars would stick their little heads over the top of the fence and look into the car just as you got beside them. Up and down very fast just at the edge of your vision. Weird. Very Weird! |

Sylvester and Jnr style. I used to hate riding in 'the bush' after dark - as the sun goes down - slow riiiiight down - or stop - in rural Oz. |

They cull a million or more of them some years! Just to make agriculture viable. There's plenty to go around. That used to be the case. But thanks to the drought conditions over the past few years, the numbers of the good quality stock has dwindled. (The Big Reds give the best, thickest hide; the greys are somewhat thinner.) Expect to pay top dollar when it comes your way. (Message edited by captainxb on June 03, 2007) |

Nope Court - when the critters are butchered out, the scroti are taken, tanned and a drawstring across the opening turns them into a nice coin purse. We got one when we went through Cairns on our way to Papua New Guinea. |
