I would like to get a little more out of my 06 Uly. I'm kind of on a budget. I have the 07 airbox with a K&N filter (on the way from American Sport Bike). I'm now considering a Race ECM, or a Special OPS muffler or an Econo-Drummer. I can't do both this year. What would you do? Any other ideas? Thanks, Andrejs |

I would put the airbox and filter on and see how you like it. Put the bike in the steady state "learn mode" so the AFV can change accordingly. IF the bike runs well with no issues then save up your coin and add the pipe and Race ECM. I added the Drummer original first and ran it for about 50 miles and then added air box and K&N and ran it for another 50 miles. Then finally added the Race ECM last weekend. For me each incremental add improved the driveability and throttle response. Bunch of guys on this forum run the air and pipe mods without the Race ECM. I got more effortless wheelies when the Race ECM was added |

Dumb question but is the race ECM a new control unit or just new software. 2nd dumb question, where do you get it? |

The race ECM is a new box, which is sold by Buell. It is normally not added before a new pipe, because it does not have a servo control for the XB12 stock pipe. I did the '07 box and race filter first, which improved the drivability in the low rpm range a little. Then I added the race pipe, then lastly the race ecm once I had the VDSTS software to do my TPS reset (which is required when changing ecm's. Although the spec ops and econo pipes do open up the flow some, they are really more designed to provide that harley "blat blat" straight pipe sound. |

I think I'll just do the regular Drummer and race ECM next winter. No sense in going cheap and regretting it later. |

Now what about going the last extra step and getting the fuel map tuned for the setup? I plan on getting a drummer and am debating these exact same things... |

Did I hear you right?????? The race ECM won't work with a servo? |

I just got a race ECM and I've got a Special Ops muffler on the way and I'll be installing a K&N Filter. Will all of this work together? |

The race ECM does not utilize the servo. So it works without the servo. |

Your best bet with the Spec Ops pipe is to have American Sport Bike remap your regular ECM for your configuration, or just use the standard ecm as is. |
