Just curious, if you already have the screens (or whatever format is used) to print the dash faces, why can't you have more made? Especially if they sold out so fast. I like the Hooligan face, but missed out on one because I don't check the sponsors threads everyday. BTW, I know you are/were month to month on sponsorship, but your banner is no longer there.... |

Samiam... when the production units arrive, i'll keep it in mind. Toona... just way too expensive for me at the quality/quantity i'm producing. the entire process is a huge hit for materials, ink, production and cutting. as for the sponsor section, i couldn't afford to place my banner there. you didn't miss it, it was never there. (monthly sponsors don't get to use that area) sorry about the limited runs (and time) but it was the only way i could move forward on this project. |

I like the limited runs. For the next go around (I am assuming that there will be one), let us know the run count. We don't need to know how many are left until we get to the last 5 or so. It makes them more valuable. |

I ordered the Kleen last night. Thanks! I read your excellent install directions, but am a little concerned about needle re-placement. Are the needles spring loaded? i.e. should there be some pressure on the zero stop pin to get an accurate reading, or are that at zero, with no load when they are on the pin? Just a little concerned about having inaccurate Info. |

Type, thanks for the explanation. I didn't know the monthly sponsors weren't listed in the sponsor section. I'll keep my eyes watching your site to see what's next! |

the needles are not spring loaded. They are operated by a stepper type motor. they are very easy to replace and adjust. It is fairly self explanatory when you are doing it. There is a stop as the needle tuns counter clockwise. if the needle is set so that it stops before it reaches 0 on the scale when turning CCW you just gently turn it until it points to 0. Be SURE to use the center hub to turn the needle. They are very fragile if the needle itself is used to apply any force. Between the amount of allowable error (5%), differences in tire diameter for different manufacturers and models and paralax error (point/angle of view induced error)I wouldn't worry too much about the difference between being ON the stop or just barely touching the stop very few speedometers are really and truley accurate outside of a very limited range of speed. Thanks, guys! and Bueller007, got the order, thank you! Toona, no sweat. Diablobrian, appreciate the added detail.. . Bueller007, as long as you go slow and have patience, it's cake. Just small parts to work with. Some needles will slide right out with finger pressure, super-simple. Some will require a little leverage. Most automotive gauge kits will sell (or include) a little 90 degree tool that looks like a stumpy fork, this gives you the leverage for the harder needles. Brian is right that reinserting them is easy as well. I'm a perfectionist so if they aren't exactly on 0, I've repositioned. Literally had the cluster and needles apart over 20 times at this point, probably more, no issues whatsoever. I just take my time. Hope this helps! |

Update from my printer.. . adding the extra designs pushed things out by a week. I won't be receiving final product until the first week of June rather than the last week in May. As soon as they're in, they'll all be shipped out that day. My BadWeb sponsorship will expire on 6/3 so I'll make sure to keep an updated thread right up until that date. Unsure if I can go another month until this run is sold out. Thanks again!! |

C'mon you Kanucks. Buy up the KMH face plates or you will never see another in KMH! (And we all may never see the second round of face plates!) We could have had a different design instead of KMH that would have sold out already! Step up! |

Nope. Just being selfishly pragmatic. You tied up one of the four slots with a KMH plate. That slot could have been dedicated to another style in MPH. Were it as cool as the others (no doubt that it would be), it would be sold by now. Conversely, the fact that you have only one Kleen left and several KMH left, you are much less likely to produce ANY KMH plates in the future. If those operating in metric locales desire to see additional offerings (and offerings for the rest of us), they need to step up and clear out the stock. |

There is a company in Italy that has been producing the KMH faceplates for sometime. I can look for the name if someone is in a bind. |

This may have been asked in a previous thread but is it possible to change the bulb color??. The orange light is what bugs me about the instrument cluster. |

Dapope, if you can find colored bulbs in a T1 Neowedge style, then yes. They have to be that size/base combo though. I've seen LED replacements but they all look too tall to fit. Quantity update: 9 Black*14 Flame KMH, all others sold out. (thanks, Nick!) (Message edited by typeone on May 29, 2007) |

Hey guys, been busy... Brad_buell, not sure just yet. Need to get finances in order and sell out of the KMH. Jwhite601, Chainsaw has been keeping an eye out for a while... T1 Neowedge are the bulbs. they have to be T1 as Dmhines points out. I agree it would be great to change the brightness and color. Another project in the background but I haven't spent any time on the search and testing. Today is my last day of BadWeb sponsorship so I'll be going silent on the faceplates for a while. Check the site for updates. I'll start a fresh thread if I kick up sponsorship again but for now I need to plan that out. Thanks again for all the interest and purchases! BadWeb rocks!! All final production faceplates should arrive to me any day now... I expect to ship them all out immediately after arrival. Quantity update: 7 Black*14 Flame KMH, all others sold out. |
