Any further updates on the Storm STs? I've been checking out Michelin Pilot Road2 and Metzeler Roadtec Z6s. Michelin's are not available at the moment. I'm leaning towards the Avons over the Metzeler product.

I have 2000 Miles on mine right now. I really like them. They have great wet traction and the center wears MUCH stronger than the Azaros and the side rubber is nice and sticky.

I would and will buy them again. I will probably get another 1,000 out of them which is longer than any tire so far. You will probably get much more.

I'm a "fat guy with a lot of torque".

I have a Storm rear sitting in my living room, and I hope to get it mounted this weekend. I'll be very excited if it gets better mileage than the Azaro.

FWIW, my Azaro rear is slightly past the wear bars at 4,500 miles. I could probably squeeze a few more miles out of it, but it's wearing pretty quickly. I wouldn't trust it in the rain. The front looks virtually new.

I have about 1,500 miles on an AV56 rear. Very nice so far; scrubbed in right out to the edge and looks to wear a good long time.

Of course I'm the guy that gets 9,000 miles out of an AV46 rear tire!

I guess that means I'm a "skinny guy with lots of angular deceleration." (closest I can come to 1/Ft_bstrd)

I got about 5600 miles out of the Avon Azaro rear...I then put on an Avon ST and ran it for 1000 miles and liked it..but it seems like it was going to get about the same mileage as the Azaro..These tires are quieter than the Michelin Pilot Roads. I just put a brand new set Avon St's on for my trip out west starting Friday. This trip will be a good test...over 6K miles with all kinds of conditions..dirt, gravel, rocks, rough pavement, high heat, and lots of rain.

I tried the Avons on my S3T and trashed them at 4K..
Now on the Uly I have a metzeler ME880 on the rear and a Metzeler roadtek Z6 on the front. I have about 2K on them now and I like them the best so far. Those 2 thousand miles have been pretty hard and a lot of hard two-up. They still look new!!!
I like the softer front and it's faster turn-in due to it's contoured profile. The harder compound of the ME880 on the rear has been very good sticking to the road even in rain. Lighter guys than me might get some loss of grip when they're cold but hot they stick as good as any other tire I've run and so far I can predict doubling my mileage over the softer sport touring tires I've tried in the past. I've come very close to dragging the bags on a damp road in 45 degree weather and the rear never even twitched! I'm sold and the mileage is great!
