Easy answer, only install it on a vehicle with a kick or pull start along with electric

Seems that many of the bikes they list ARE electric start. Just curious about feedback.

Many years ago (well before my lack of intelligence became apparent to myself) I put a magneto on my '56 Panhead. Somehow I got the unreliable information that I had to delete the battery from the system when doing so, and I used a similar unit to the one above. Before the conversion, my Lucas rectangle driving lights - one with a clear lense, one diffused (hi & low beam, if you will) would burn a hole thru that back doors of a semi trailer at about 300 yards. After the mag & battery eliminator were installed, the lights were about 1/3 as bright, and would flicker at idle or low RPM. Any of you familiar with early XLCH bikes know what I'm talking about.
Mind you, finding a 12 volt battery (I had converted the 6 volt to 12 so I could use those lights) that would fit in the space inside the oil tank was problematic and the ones that were available tended to 'boil out' and self-destruct with monotonous regularity, so there was an advantage to the idea of eliminating the battery.
The Pan was a kick start only machine, so I could do this.

To even consider this conversion on an electric start-only street bike, such as a Buell, would be utter folly.
Race bike, well that would be different.

So to answer your Question:
YES - You push every time!

Al
That's my opinion and I'm stickin' to it.

You'd soon become good at parking on hills.

I would imagine all the bikes listed are carbed bikes too. The problem with even trying to push start an efi bike is getting enough voltage in the charging system to turn on the fuell pump. You won't get any fuel in the combustion chamber without adequate pressure to the fuel injectors IIRC. So IMO not a good solution for a XB or any efi bike.

MOST of the bikes on that list are kick start or kick start with electric start as an add on. The yamaha xt series, the suzuki GT series, bsa, triumphs, nortons are primarily kickers with electric starters added and I haven't seen any vincents with electric start. the only one I see listed that are only electric are the cbr's and it states race only which would mean push. Either kick it or push it also the F.I. issue as stated would be a dilema

And it's much more difficult to push start a Buell than a CBR due to the gearing...

It's possible for sure, but it's not easy especially if they're cold...

From the site: "Please realize, there is no available power until the motor is running.
If the motorcycle has an electric starter, you will lose this function."

With an ELECTRIC fuel pump and ELECTRICly operated fuel injectors, Your "BAttery Eliminator" will absolutely eliminate any chance of your XB engine from starting.

With that being said, finding a smaller battery that doesn't need the CCA to turn the motor, but have enough juice to power the fuel pump and electronics might make it a viable weight saving deal...for a race only bike. I wouldn't want to push start an XB or a Tuber.
