does anyone know if you can somehow wire the low beam light to come on with the high beam light without the high beam being on when the low is on?

I don't know if you found the thread yet, but that was the first thing I did to mine. I didn't swap any wires I just popped the left hand switch housing open and put a multi meter on the different wires to find the pair that are closed when the low beam is on. So, having found which pair of wires are active for the low beam, and the fact that they are soldered to the high low switch like 1/8 of an inch apart from each other, I just bridged a little solder between the two contacts. Boom, Low beam always on regardless of switch position.
If you have any trouble finding the right wires reply back and I'll pop my switch housing open and see what color they are.

I was out riding last night on my new 06 Uly and felt the headlights are extremely inadequate. I am glad I found this thread. I did the job in about 45 minutes. Took a while to find a tool that would allow me to get a feel for the tabs. I'll see how this helps my visibility. I may have to upgrade the headlamps too.

Skiman,

Question. With the low beams powered off the running light circuit, I am wondering if the headlight still cuts out when the hitting the starter to fire up the beast? It probably does but it is worth asking.

If I understand the circuit correctly, the power for the low beams no longer runs through the handlebar control so there would be less current running through that switchgear. There would be more power drawn in the supply wire coming into the headlight area when both lights are on. This looks quite simple/elegant but I would want to be sure the wire gauge in the new circuit for the low beam is adaquate for the new job.

I too am interested in upgrading the lighting on the Uly a bit so this thread is interesting.

I need assistance with a part number.

The Uly has 2 headlights in sealed black plastic module. The bulbs and electric wiring are separate from this part. The module does have the reflectors as part of it. My original part seems to have been sealed with RTV. The screw that adjusts the height of the beams threads into the bottom of this module allowing the entire module to be adjusted up or down.

Ideally I need the part number and the price.

I will need to replace this module as my beams are reversed with the low beam being focused higher than the high beam. This cannot be corrected by adjustments as the reflectors are fixed inside the module.

Can anyone dig up a part number for this module?
