10:30 works fine. Where do you want to meet? Or do you just want to swing by my house and we can head out from there? |

Next Saturday!!!!!!! You could run Banks, Clatskanie, St. Helens and back. Basically where you go left towards Clats, if you went right you'd hit St. Helens. Looks like a nice loop. |

Anyone know if that road is any good? I think it is Apiary Rd. I've been on the Vernonia-Scappoose Hwy and it has a lot of rough patch work, I'm guessing Apiary is the same. Vernonia-Scappoose Hwy is good if you are just putting around and there are some clean sections where you can be more aggressive around the turns. I'm going to ride Monday if anyone else is free. Have not figured out a loop yet, but thought I might try going on some backroads to Silverton and stop for a quick visit with my new niece. Then head south through Silver Falls Park to Sublimity. North I haven't figured out yet. |

Welcome Graham! Guys, First Sunday of every month there is a Doc Wongs Clinic at Beaverton Honda at 9 AM. (Free!) I went this week, and it was great! Not a fast ride, but extremly technical with highly skilled group leaders who are giving thier time for free and give honest and good feedback. I'll be trying to go to each and every one of these, Sunday the third of June will be the next one. Who's in? |

Welcome to the BadWeb Graham, Mike, Clint. Paul, what time do they actually leave the store? How long do they ride? How many people crapped rice when they heard your Drummer? |

I'd say anything you learn is worth learning right. Give it a try and if you feel like your too uncomfortable then let them know. Don't ride someone else's pace if it is making you ride out of your limits. |

Graham (Et All), The clinic was exactly that, a clinic. It wasn't about riding fast, but riding well. The clinic starts with a discussion about 9 AM, and ran for about 30 minutes, then the group broke into three groups, A, B and C. I started in the C group, but it was a little slow to pratice the skills we talked about, so I moved to the B group at the halfway meet. Beginners are welcome, as are extremly experanced riders. The June Clinic will be on Smooth riding, Body English and weight transfer. Hope to see all there! And Yes, The bike got more looks than anything else in the lot... Paul |

Random Baby! Got any suggestions? I did a lone run yesterday after work. Did 26 to 47 east. through Vernonia on the back roads, Back to 47, took the cut over to 30, rode 30 to Germantown and home. Did about 75 miles in about an hour 35. Not bad considering I did the limit through Vernonia and on 30. The cut road (I never slowed down enough to catch the name) was in BAD shape in a few spots, but cleared up at then end. There is a bridge out about 75% of the way in and it's gravel and wood plank, but there are a lot of signs in front of it. It was a good ride, nearly got the "Hero Knobs" off the back tire and scuffed the strips down pretty thin on the front... Not sure how the weather looks, anyone thinking about this weekend? What are thoughts on a regular ride? Say every saturday morning, find a cheap dive to eat and meet at, whoever shows goes with a regular depart time say 7 or 7:30 ish? I know a bunch of us are on the west side, anyone have any good suggestions within striking distance of good rides? Perhaps Linton off of HWY 30 or Hales off TV highway in Hillsbureto? |

Welcome Graham. Paul, I am up for Saturday meets. Not too sure about routes to take though. This early in the morning though most routes should be fairly clear from traffic as well as not being too hot as summer is approaching. (Message edited by xbswede on May 10, 2007) |

Paul, that is the Scappoose-Vernonia Hwy. Here is some other roads closer to home you can try that Spanktastic showed me. All of these roads connect between Skyline and 30. McNamee, Newberry, Logie Trail. |

3.Graham Im on the southwest side of portland but meeting anywhere works for me. Just did a great ride with a friend on sunday, dont know the names of the roads (i can find out) but the route started with tualatin/sherwood hwy out just past 99W take a left toward Newberg, then a road to the top of Bald Mountain over and down to sholls(sp)ferry rd and back to town. Great ride, lots of turns some gravel across the road just before bald mt peak park but for the most part just good riding and spectacular views. Disclaimer: I am a first time rider of Oregon and that was my first "real" run, I am really looking forward to any good routes and definitly game for riding anytime (it seems I have a lot of "catching up" to do!) but i will be there saturdays for a regular ride, but i am out for this saturday and next saturday (work) |

5. Toby (also kinda sorta...) this weekend i'm out, and it's gonna be a little spotty for the next few months as my wife is pregnant with our first, and she's due July 15-ish...so who knows what the summer has in store for me? but i love the idea of setting up some sort of regular riding/meeting times - i'll try my best to make it as often as i can! |
