I could'nt find an exhaust thread on the tech page, so I hope I dont upset the apple cart here, But........I have a Lightning long, 07 edition....was wondering about a jardine exhaust with a moderate quiet core. I understand the 07 has the airbox already opened up and a different ECM program than previous models. if I install that muffler will i still need the Race ECM? I have the VDTS so i can reset the TPS if I do. |

Well if you don't use the race ECM, your going to need to defeat the exhaust servo system or you will get the check engine light. I recommend the race ECM, and you can reset the TPS yourself so no need to worry about getting it to a dealer. |

Lots of debate on whether or not the Race ecm is needed with the aftermarket exhaust. There have been pictures posted of exploded motors and others have claimed to have run with no problems for thousands of miles. I went with the aftermarket exhaust and race ecm just for piece of mind. You then don't have to worry about the check engine light caused by the exhaust servo. of course you could just leave the exhaust servo connected. |
