A couple of days ago I posted a note saying that the front injector was bad on my bike. Today the injector was installed and still the front cylinder will not run. The bike is at my local shop, Classic Cycle. They are at witts end, they have no clue what could be wrong. Everything checks out, compression, fuel, and spark...HELP...any ideas would be greatly helpful.

I had a similar problem a few years back on my old XB9S' rear cylinder. It turned out to be a cracked spark plug. Sure the current is getting to the plug, but is it getting to the anode on the plug (AKA making an arc/spark)? Put a new plug in and see what happens.

Plugs were the first thing I thought of, I changed them before I took it in. Thanks for the thought.

Fuel, air and spark.

If it has gas in it, and has compression, I would be looking at spark. (plugs/wires/coil/ecu).

Had a similar thing happen on my V'Strom. It had spark, fuel, air, compression and basically everything checked out. Still had a dead cylinder. Turned out to be bad plug leads (spark plug wires). It had good spark as long as the plug was exposed to ambient air, but put it back in the cylinder under compression, it would fail to spark. I ended up replacing the ECM, pulser coils, coils, plugs (twice), and stator with no results until I replaced the leads. Might be worth a try.

Also think about some sort of timing related catastrophe as well.

You could have fuel, air, and spark, but not at the right time. So it could be wrong timing (if it was messed with or something came loose) or a crank sensor or something.

This just in...it appears as thought, noggin you are on the right track...the plug wires were bad...the thing had spark but not enough under pressure...now with the new wires installed it runs like crap...so they say...more to follow

Evileye,
I would try to pull some codes manually from the ECM. If there are no codes then I would start looking for poor electrical connections behind the tranny output sprocket cover and under the air box. Then I would check resistance across the coil primary and secondary circuits with a ohm meter.
Also,
just because the spark plug boot is on the plug and coil, it does not guarantee the connector is on the plug. Pull the boot back and then snap the connector on the plug and then push the boot in place.

Sounds like you are making progress. All the mis-firing may have fooled the ECM (similar to running out of gas). Make sure the plugs are clean, take it out for a ride and hold RPM around 3000 for 5 minutes (IIRC) and the ECM will "re-learn" the engine.

Well, the story today is with the plug wire replaced the front cylinder cuts in and out soo had that it will lift the front wheel, I offered up all of your suggestions, they say they have tried them all. Now they have a new 06 there swapping parts to see if they can get it going...
