I just ordered t-rex stands. This may be obvious when I have them in hand but w/o a center stand is it easy to get the bike on and off of them single handed ? MDM |

Yes. The rear stand goes on first, comes off last. The trick, if there is one, is to take it slow and easy. The most dangerous part is putting the bike back on the side stand. After removing the front stand, VERY slowly lower the rear stand so the rear tire is just touching the ground, with the side stand in the extended position. Then grab the bike while it is vertical, and the rear wheel on the ground, with your left hand, while lowering the rear stand very slowly with your right. At this point the rear stand handle quite high off the ground and near the tail light. Then let go of the stand, and bracing the bike with your body and both hands, very slowly lower it on to the already extended side stand. Nothing to it, once you get the hang of it. Having a friend standing by while you practice a few times isn't a bad idea either. Once again, the trick is to move very slowly, keeping yourself and the bike well balanced. |
