Hook up with the Hudson Valley Crew over in the Storm Fronts Section. Bear Mt area has some very cool roads. |

Here's a route plan I wrote up for HHII Cross the Hudson eastward across the Bear Mountain Bridge (Toll shall be $1.00 US) At the end of the bridge (easternmost part) ye shall set your tripmeters to Zero (0). Turn left onto Route 9D North for 5.4 miles to Snake Hill Rd. Make a right onto Snake Hill Rd (This is just after a gas station) (This road has a nice 20 MPH hairpin) and go 1.7 miles. Make a left onto Route 9 North and go 4.1 miles to the stoplight at the junction of Route 301. Make a right onto Route 301 East (This is a high speed section with nice sweepers) and follow for 9.5 miles. At this point make a left turn onto Farmers Mill Rd (This is a hard left just off a really nice right hand sweeper so slow down...possible gravel here) Take Farmers Mill Rd for 6.1 miles all the way to end (I love this road you will too) at the junction of Route 52. (There will be a school parking lot and this is a good resting point, and veterans of last year's run will remember this spot as where Saintly pulled out the auxiliary fuel tank from the saddle bag to refuel his FrankenChopper). Make a Right onto Route 52 East (This is a somewhat boring section that will take you through a few lights and civilization) for 4.9 miles and keep your eyes WIDE open for the XTRA Gas Station because you will make a right here (easy to miss) onto Fowler Rd. Take Fowler Road for about 1/8 mile and you will come too the unmarked junction of Route 301. Make a right onto 301 East and follow for 5.1 miles (Nice high speed sweepers on a truly legendary motorcycling road in this area.) to Peekskill Hollow Road. Make a Left onto Peekskill Hollow Road and follow this road for 9 miles. (Another one of my favorite roads with plenty of turns and dips...about 2.5 miles into this road you will encounter 2-3 zero G humps that are perfect for lofting the front end and other Isle of Mann TT antics) to the stoplight at the intersection of Church Road. Make a right onto Church road and follow all the way to the stop sign and go across the intersection (Church Rd will become Cimmaron Rd and then becomes Sprout Brook Road) (At the bottom of the hill is a tricky left hand turn - be careful) and follow for approximately 4 miles to stop sign. At stop sign make a right which is a continuation of Sprout Brook Road. Follow this all the way to the stop sign where you will make a right and really quick left. and follow to a light at the intersection of Route 9. Make a left at light onto Route 9 South and follow to the circle (The same circle where Hammer71 has entertained the crowds with showers of Titanium induced sparks) At the circle you will follow signs to Route 6 West/Bear Mountain and go approximately 5 miles back to the Bear Mountain Bridge. |
