I got a set of pretty scuffed up green deep saddlebags on ebay. Rather than try to match the paint I figured I'd try my luck with Duplicolor Truck Bed Liner in a spray can. I scuffed them up good with some coarse sand paper, wiped them down with 409, and finally an isopropyl alcohol wipedown. I sprayed about 4 coats, waiting 5 minutes or more between coats. I used the whole can. I was extremely pleased with the results, and how well and evenly it sprayed. Unlike most of my DIY projects, this one ended satisfactorily. I can in good conscience recommend this product. Here are the results. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y220/TheRealJohnn yLunchBox/DSC05099.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y220/TheRealJohnn yLunchBox/DSC05095.jpg |

I added another personal touch. It's amateurish so don't hate me: It looks good from about 5 feet away.

oddly enough it does look good from a distance. so how do you think it looks up close. |

The finish looks good even up close. It is my poor ass excuse for a homemade stencil that looks kinda crappy up close, but even then it isn't too bad. |

Experimenting is how we learn. Penicillin was an accidental discovery! I don't think it looks that bad. |

Looks good! I wonder if you line-x the interior that it would make it less flexy. |

Very cool! Duplicor huh? Is that carried by one of the normal department or auto parts stores? |

I got it at Walmart, but any hardware store or auto parts store should have it. |

I wonder if that would work on a scuffed up helmet. The bags look good |

This finish is very non-skid. Almost feels like sandpaper. I think Line-X is a bit smoother. |

Line-X IS sandpaper, take my word for it, I'm on my 3rd truck with Line-X. The stuff is damned near indestructible, and is so rough you have to be extremely careful of what you carry. |
