Just got back from the dealership, I ordered up a Ti Jardine can, Race ECM, and the performance filter. I have my 1000 mile service scheduled for the 10th, I'll have them throw the goodies on then, and should have the bike back in time for my 21st on Saturday. I'm quite excited to feel the difference... |

Alright, so the goods came in a week early, and are now sitting in front of me begging to be put on... the big question, should I do it myself and save the labor charge, or wait for the dealership to do it next Thursday? |

you'll need a tps reset after the race ecm install, do you have the software, or use the dealer? |

Put your muffler and filter on, ride to the dealership, put the ECM on in the parking lot, get your TPS reset, and blast off. Ride her constant 3,000 RPM for a few miles and let the bike get acclimated to the new parts, and you're good to go. Got a shop manual in case you have questions, right? |

Spent about 6 hours out in the garage today putting everything on. The only complaint that I have is that the mounting tab on the Jardine needed to be ground down and the hole re-drilled to make everything line up, which surprised me, I thought the 9's were the only ones having problems with that. The air-filter itself was cake, as most everyone knows. The only thing that took some time on that end was re-routing my breather lines to a homemade catch-can system, and chopping down my inner air-box(which now looks much like the kit sold by Al.) The ECM was a snap, took maybe 15 minutes to swap, with about a 5 minute smoke break. I've read that some get lucky, and have no problems riding to their dealer for the TPS reset. I thought since I live about 2 miles from the dealership, that it wouldn't be much of a problem for me to ride up once I got everything buttoned up and the bike put back together. I fired it up in the garage (sounded oh so sweet,) rolled it outside in neutral, and as soon as I dropped it into first, she died. It died twice more on the ride over, and was popping like a cannon the whole way. (The looks I got from a couple old lady's walking their dogs was priceless.) Anyway, I got the TPS reset, drove off, and couldn't be happier. The sound is exactly what I was hoping it would be, and the power gain (after the 15 minutes at 3,500,) was more than I could have asked for. Thanks BadWeB for all the info, knowledge, and assistance. On that note, if anyone wants or needs an '07 inner airbox cover, I have a like-new that will ship for free. Just send me a PM... -Bryan |
