I had posted earlier about my Fianc'e getting a brand spanking new Scg. She loves it and thinks Eric built it for here. (How does he know her dimensions?)Anyway, her first ride was yesterday. We went out for a little trip around the block and Maryland and Deleware for 6 hours. Took a few short breaks and one 45 minute diner. this is great for her. On her BMW I was lucky to stretch the ride out to about 3 hours, then it was hot tub time. I did a search regarding windshields and found lots of info. over the past 3 years. It appears as if for her bike there are three predominant choices: Install a Uly screen, ZG, or Laminar Lip. I am wondering what has been the exprience of users over the past year with their windshild upgrades or swaps? She is 5'5" and still wants to look over the screen. In anticipation of the request, is there a good power source in the front headlight cowling to hook up a set of poly-grip handlebar heaters? I used the accessory plug wiring on my Uly. Thanks

PSO, i like the laminar lip, it raises the wind "hit" to the upper chest / shoulder area.simple install, looks o.k. i am powering my heated grips off of the "hot" wire on the turn signal flasher !(its keyed, fused, conveniat and has limited use)

I have the laminar lip myself. I like that it is removable. You still get hit by wind, but it's not forcing me to hold on tight at highway speeds anymore.

I have some pics from this weekend, but i havent resized yet.... about 600kb each.

I have the ULY set up. It works great. The flyscreen detaches from the bike very easily and the windshield pops off the flyscreen instantly with no tools. It looks good on the bike and takes the big wind blast off the chest. Very noticeable.

I second the Uly screen setup. It looks factory like the bike came that way or at least is a Buell accessory. When I'm tucked in, My eyes are just a couple of inches above the windscreen (w/crossroads). All the wind is directed right over me. It made a big difference in comfort/wind buffeting. She'll especially appreciate it in the wintertime.

Check my profile for a pic.

Cycleaddict-I have the Uly shop manual, but perhaps you could tell me where the wire is and what the color is so that I can install those polly heaters? I have mine so that I drilled a hole in the gauge housing and put a toggle swithc there,I was thinking of the same type of set-up for Sara's bike.
Thanks

Go with the laminar lip. I recently took mine off and went on the interstate. Holy Shit did I miss that Lip. I put it back on and I love the thing. Works great and looks alright

PSO, i'm not sure what color the "hot" wire is on your bike....,using your volt meter (you do have one don't you ?) turn ign. key on, ground one meter lead ,and "probe" the wires on the flasher until you "find" 12 v. you have now located your / "hot" wire.you can either splice your connection or "camp" on with a double terminial.

Uly, about 12,000 miles since I put it on including two trips to San Diego from the Bay Area. It not only makes the arms less tired at highway speeds, the buffeting I had in the slightest wind is gone. The only problem is color matching in my opinion.
