wow...first rally. Atlantic Beach Bikefest...or more commonly known as "Black Bike Week". I knew there would be traffic, but I was only 1/2 right. Anyway, as I'm sure you are aware, I had to really creep along down the strip, I think I cooked my nuts!! It was downright uncomfortable! Now I know this bike is air cooled, but is there some sort of heat shield I could use? Or... God forbid, could there be something wrong with my bike? Please, even after opening it up on the road there was no relief. |

Sponsor section.Special ops sell heat barriers for under the air box and seat. I have them and they do help. |

I was trying to get out of Manhattan on Friday afternoon and the temp was 93+. Everywhere I turned I was nailed in traffic. Eventually got farmed on the Harlem River Drive with an accident taking out a lane. It was so hot that the sweat was just dripping down my face. I'm with you as I also had the fear of having my nuts cooked. I was just waiting for that bad boy to overheat and shut down on me. Nice to see that it didn't as it was one of my fears on getting an air cooled bike. |

Today is the first I've heard of this "Black Bike Week". Why must minorities segregate themselves and then call whites racist? |

Old_man, I don't think Black Bike Week is for black bikes. |

Just curious, was there a good representation of custom sportbikes at Black Bike Week? Lots of stretched Busas, etc.? That would be more interesting than the all Harley lookalike stuff at Daytona. |

The Official Name is "Atlantic Beach BikeFest," NOT "Black Bike Week." I seriously doubt it was the African Americans who named it "Black Bike Week." For some reason, early May attracts White people on Harleys, and late May attracts Black people on Sport bikes to the same area. |

Well, are there cooler bikes than than at Daytona in March? Just asking because the east coast black guys that I rode with when I lived there had tricked out sportbikes. Many Busas. |

Thanks Jaimec.... I couldn't have said it better. And to answer you directly 07xb12scg.... Everything that does not fall under the immediate notion gets categorized to show that it is different from the one you are most likely thinking about. "Sports" bikes, "Naked" bikes, "Jap" bikes... The list goes on and on. I had a great time down there and people were all different colors "White" too. No one is trying to be racist. We are all riders and that bonds us together, no matter what you ride or what color you are. Thanks for the question though. |

Xb12mel: My question wasn't meant to offend and I'm sorry if it did. I guess I should have censored myself a little bit there. Plus, I thought this was an official title for the bike week. Again, I am sorry and I am not racist. |
