Rag + Spidey - Good question. Perhaps a few definitions are in order, to wit: All Buelligans possessing a genuine Buell brand motorcycle employing roller chain as the secondary means of power transmission are welcome as members of the Chain Gang. Primary chain drive does NOT count: everyone has that. Belt primary conversions combined with secondary chains DO count, ( just because we think the Free Spirits open primary belt drive is totally cool ). Got it? Do you qualify? Tank - Have you been doing righteous burn outs with that unit or what? (Message edited by gentleman_jon on April 28, 2007) |

Not yet, but I do have another rim/tire that need separating! (if I could just get the damn pulley off!) (new corsa III's on the way) (Message edited by tank_bueller on April 28, 2007) |

All Hail Saintly. Without Fritz I'd be on another brand this Spring for sure. He helped me get the conversion done for a great price, and now I'm enjoying my Buell again big time. |

All Hail Saintly. +1 Got my stuff from him too. Nice work on the Idler and spacers. But I just can't leave well enough alone. Already working on putting a bigger sprocket out back. |

Holy Smoke Fritz, You are probably going to do a conversion for Erik Buell next. Opps.......I forgot...... His racing machines already have chain. Silly me. I will make your additions. I think I am only going to add Bad Webbers for the moment. Not sure why. (Message edited by gentleman_jon on April 28, 2007) |

Any other members of the Willow Springs Luncheon Club that should be on the list? Jim Chaconas' XB12 is converted. I'm not sure if Patrick McGinley has converted his XB racebike yet (his S2 was chain) Vince and David aren't switched yet... that's in the near future. The Bartels bikes that Dixon races are chain - but they're Bartels bikes... don't think it'd be right to list Jeff Dixon since he's the "hired gun" and not owner. Tim Hurley is not yet racing his ex-Hal's S1 (motor is apart) and his Blast is NOT chain. (Message edited by slaughter on April 28, 2007) |

Chaconas is (as "Chaconas") - Vince is (as "Lightningrider") - don't think Dave Ortiz is. Patrick McGinley is not. He's not much of an online kinda guy. Ditto for Tim Hurley. I think Hurley and McGinley read a little but they don't post at all. |

Do you think we could talk Saintly into a BUELL CHAIN GANG t-shirt with the purchase of a conversion kit. I aint askin' for a freebee, tack on another 20 Bucks that I would gladly pay. Plus the t-shirt could be used as packing instead of bubble wrap and that will make the Earth Day people happy!! |

I feel bad for you people,.. DOOD, pay attention, you might learn something. I have two Buells. One will always run belt. The other needs different gearing. Not speaking about myself, but if you pass most of the chain drive bikes here, you are on the track, and you should be proud. "These guys are good" |

I feel bad for you people, i'll be sure to wave as i pass you oiling up I've got two things to say. 1. O-ring chain You'll not see me "oiling up" 2. I won't wave & pass you when you're stuck on the side of the road with a broken belt. I'll stop & help! |

Add me to the list. I dont have a picture to show right now but as I put the bike back together I will have some soon!! Currently geared with a 22t front and 47t rear using a modified stock idler arm with a 17t idler sprocket and a DID 530zvm2 chain. I like the new gearing MUCH better but have noticed more vibration transmitted throughout the bike under acceleration. |
