Uh, just a feeler seeing what sort of interest is out there on what a 2000 M2 engine with a hair under 28,000 miles on it might go for these days. If anyone's interested then post a reply or ping an email. No hurry unless the amount is at a good enough level to tip the decision scale. If it does go then more parts will follow, if not then another avenue may be taken. Engine stock, updated chain tensioner, synthetic primary lube at last change, c/f air filter, rerouted breathers, rejetted carb, otherwise stock. Willing to get it dyno'd or leakdown/compression tested at potential buyer's expense, testing costs might be subtracted from purchase price if bought, otherwise no refunds. If I can find a free local dyno day I may do that anyway. |

Probably too much, but if I can get close to $3,000 for it that might be a decision point. Price kind of depends on what someone wants with the engine, like the carb, intake, headers/exhaust, air filter, and so on. After that decision to break it up is made then everything will be available except for the tank and wheels, plus anything I think could be used on an S2 later down the road. I'm looking to get a 2-up cruiser type bike, so I need a set minimum dollar number. |

http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/mcy/326030712.html Well, dang, there's a bike just like mine, or close enough, for close to what I need for the engine alone. Oh well, looks like I'll be scratching this idea and looking for a different way to get cruiserfied. Doesn't make sense to part out a bike for less than $2,500 for the engine. Oh well, so it goes, looks like I'm a lifer or have trader-fodder at the dealership for doughnuts on the dollar trade-in value. Life, it's what happens when you don't go fishing. |
