Just got my Cycle World magazine yesterday. They said it's the best Buell ever built. Roadracingworld said it's the best American built bike ever. Think they are on to something? |

That's crazy. It's hardly a departure from the other XBs... why didn't they get all this good press too? ~SM |

Swordsman, have you ridden a TT yet? |

>>>It's hardly a departure from the other XBs That's an inaccurate statement. You should have been reading what I was writing last 11-18 while everyone was throwing their "number plate hissy fits". It's a spectacular motorcycle. . . very different. Ask those who have ridden it. |

That's been said about a few XB spin-offs. I like it. Out of all XB's to date it's the only one I'd actually consider buying new (if'n I had the $$ that is!). |

To put it in as few words as possible... The STT is the best all around, "real word" bike that Buell has built to date. It makes a GREAT city commuter with that extra inch of suspension travel, it soaks up the potholes much better than a standard lightning or firebolt. Without the nose dive of the Uly under hard braking. There are some railroad tracks on my way out of Hals HD/Buell that I wouldn't take over 40MPH on the CityX, but easily do 50+ with the TT. That extra inch of suspension does a lot more than you'd think. It also seems to turn in faster than the SS & Uly. But not as fast as the Firebolt or CityX. These are all my opinions... YMMV.. Go ride one for yourself and find out. |

10K miles on my CityX in eight months. Aiming for a trade turn in with 50k miles, for a new 2009 TT Damn the depreciation, ride the hell out of her. Hoping for an orange one in the line up then . |

I have to say...the more I see it, the better I like it with the exception of the number plates. How hard would it be to mount some Uly bags to the TT? I could see myself selling my beloved S3T for a STT with hard bags. |

funny you should ask Lake, Steve is in the process right now! He's building the bike we were discussing last homecoming, except it is based on the sst, not the ss I'll let him explain the details of his "evil plan" |

Dennis, Buell wont build us a *REAL* replacement for the S3T, so I'll build it myself. I've purchased everything to add the Uly tail + bags to the STT, along with a firebolt fairing. Which I'll be raising up an inch to clear the lighting bars/master cylinder. Along with a Zero Gravity ST shield (+3" over stock height). And adding Hella 90MM lights VS the crappy stock firebolt lights. I've just finished stripping all the tail section parts, to have them powder coated to match the XB12 charcoal colored frame. I've still got some rear tire clearance issues to work out. And some rear tail light wiring issues. But that's all pretty minor stuff. |

>> How hard would it be to mount some Uly bags to the TT?<< IMO If you are going somewhere that hard bags are required an XB12X is a better option. The TT has ergos that are brilliant for carving up the city and sports rides. I'm feeling my knees after half an hour on it. The bars are narrow and the seat is slim. Uly is good all week. It comes down to how tall you are I guess. (Message edited by danger_dave on April 27, 2007) |

Can you tell that Steve HATES talking about it I can't wait to see it at homecoming! My son wants to try out the rear seat of Steve's bike, Kyle (for some reason) thinks it will be more comfortable than the pillion on my firebolt! The thanks I get for getting the factory "custom" rear seat |

I spotted one at the local HD dealer, where my bike is waiting for repairs. Gonna see if they will let me take it for a spin after I pick up my bike. Sure hope so! |

Steve; will the project be done in time for Homecoming? I'd really like to see it. |

Crusty, that's my plan. But then again, is a bike project ever *REALLY* done? |

There are a set of Hepco & Becker hard bags that are a lil smaller than the ULY , they are 30 or 40 litres. Pricing and availability coming soon I am sure. Somebody at corporate should snap those up as a rebadged accessory (hint-hint) Waiting to see Steves creation.
