Went to go for a ride this am and M2 only clicked as I punched the starter. Started checking and found that my 4 month old battery [from Batteries Plus] had popped the filler caps on the two out-most cells. I put my old Yuasa in, went for a spin. No problems. I then took my "new" battery back to the Batteries Plus dealer. I did not know that the battery was "dry" as the dealer put it [something about fiberglass mats that soak up water] Battery was tested and had 12.1 volts. I brought it home and put it on the trickle charger. I am wondering if my charging system is over charging. Why else would the caps have popped? |
