I currently ride with a Cortech super mini tank bag. I love it but after a year with it and after this last long trip to a ST.N meet and greet, I think it really is super mini for me and I am interested to see any pics of the two tank bags that buell offers on some of your bikes. the deluxe and the regular tank bag. Post 'em if ya got 'em. tanks |

Not the best pics in the world but you get the idea. I've been really happy with the regular bag; it holds a lot without getting in the way and the attachment system allows for simple installation and removal.

Deluxe bag on my '04 XB12R: I had one of the original XB tank bags prior to this one. I actually liked its size/shape better, but eventually the stitching came apart and I had to retire it. I couldn't decide between the new XB tank bag or the deluxe bag, but I ended up going for the deluxe bag in hopes that it would be larger. The removable rear pocket gets in the way so I never use it, but this probably wouldn't be a problem on something other than the XB. |

"I had one of the original XB tank bags prior to this one. I actually liked its size/shape better" Ditto! The zippers gave up the ghost on mine. I feel like it had a lot more room too. I do like the partitions in the deluxe bag, and the cable holes. |

So how old were the regular tank bags before they "gave up the ghost"? for $100.00 + I would think that they should last a lifetime. Please explain. tanks for the pics. |

I just replaced mine. It was 2 1/2 years old and had 30k miles on it. The zipper closure wouldn't always close the zipper. It became a pain, so I replaced it. This was the first style XB tank bag. |

My bag was about 3 years old and had over 20k miles on it. The seam on the lid of the bag was pulling apart, it eventually was bad enough that I didn't need to use the zipper to get small items out of the bag. In fairness to the bag, I'm pretty hard on tank bags. Sometimes I'd stuff it so full that it was hard to close the zipper and I'd often lay on the bag on the interstate. The seam had actually been slowing pulling apart for a long time. If I had tried to repair it early on rather than ignoring it for so long I'd probably still be using that bag now. |

My regular XB bag is about 22 months old and the main zipper started failing about two months ago. I think I'm going to save up for the deluxe as a replacement. I really like those side pockets. |
