Ok here are some of the pics... Tearing it down
then... Engine Powder coated accents...
Powder Coated Frame...The color is black with no light on it and blue to purple under light..very cool...
Partially reassembled...Powder Coated the Tail, I need to add some white to it somewhere, haven't decided yet..
The Blue matched pretty well, really so close and the accents on the engine just set it off, I didn't want it too pretty so we left a lot undone...just accents..that frame is so cool...
High Temp Blue Powder Coat on the Pipes, aluminum rivets for accents...white inserts in the tail with blue pegasus...it turned out nice, I will post more as I get more...small electrical issues but otherwise rides great, I have missed this bike!!

The powder man is me my friend, Specialized Industrial Coatings, it is what I do for my living. You can PM me or visit my site, but it is still under construction as we are working on our patio furniture business at the moment. www.specialized-powdercoating.com I glad you all like it, I wanted it to stand out but be minimal. |

I think 100 Smurfs were injured in the mixing of that paint.

Well Rocket if you need some powder sent to you that you cannot get across the pond then I will be happy to help you my friend Note: No smurfs were harmed in the coating of the motorcycle. Any reference to injured smurfs were purely for dramatic purposes and do not necessarily reflect the views of SPINCO, HotBlack Inc or BadWeb. |

Did you do the High Temp on the Pipe too? |

Yes I did high temp on the pipe, has a slight metallic in the paint, matched quite nicely to the skins. We drilled out the rivets in the can, cleaned it, packed, then powder coated the can, then after replaced the rivets with aluminum rivets with a brushed look to offset the blue. Cause it is a bit smurfyrific as you can see...but I am a small dude so smurfy is about right..hehe...anyway, it turned out nice I am pleased. |

Nice Bike Blackbird, funny Wile..it is on a lift...although it isn't very hard to go over my head...lol...anyway Blackbelt I am doing the pegasus in white and carrying through the stripe, but I think it needs something up the side of the subframe...I am going to be conservative on it though and do the stripe and pegasus and then look at it to decide then what it needs..don't want to over do it. |

Hey Liquor can you post pix of the header after coating, also is a gold color available? I liked the original gold color as the header heat cycles it cooks out the carbon and it looks rusty I would love to have a nice even metalic straw / gold color. |

Oldog - if we are talking stainless steel headers, the only thing you have to do get that even gold.metallic straw color, is polish em up REALLY GOOD before mounting.(Read- make em look like chrome) I did mine last year and they still look that way (even goldish color).. you may have to re-polish em every other year, but that shouldn't be a big deal. |

Neener, neener, neener, I saw the frame while it was still warm (well, almost) and pictures don't capture the complexity of the colour. Looks really nice Dale! You must ride it to Homecoming - Resistance Is Futile! Others may attempt to ignore the preceding subliminal message... Oz "Nobody gets in to see the Wizard. Not nobody, not no how." |
