hi all! just registered on the website and already need help!! got a 12r (pride and joy!) and decided to change the indicators for some sleek sexy led ones. fitted front set ok, flasher unit went in fine but... how the hell do u get to the rear indicators???? any help greatly appreciated! |

Hope you have small hands. Take out the tail light lens and reflector - you'll be able to see the nuts for the signals. If you're lucky, they're not overly tight. If you can get a wrench (or pliers, or anything) on the nut, you should be able to spin the signal by hand. It will either unscrew the nut or unscrew the post from the signal, but either way they'll come out. Make sure you get a load balancer or a replacement signal relay that can handle the difference in load, otherwise your signals won't blink (with one set changes they blink faster, with both changed they don't blink at all). |

Or you can do like I did and remove the "Trunk" its not easy but it gives a little more access. I chose not to reinstall it, It gives ma a little more area to carry things. Just MAKE SURE you protect the battery terminals since they are visible and accessible from that side with it removed. I used a hi performance aircraft "Electrical" tape designed just for that kind of thing. |

thanks for the help guys loving it ! i'm a bit afraid of breaking the fairing to be honest as i have never stripped a buell bodywork b4 and i'm not entirely sure how to do it lol i have a manual on the way from states but you know how it is - it might take a few days and i cant wait that long! i'll give removal of tail light a go tomorrow morning!! regards the loader 0 i bought a flasher relay from trojan horse here in UK - is that the same thing? thanks again for the help! |

Remove the bolts as indicated and spread it from the sides a bit to ease it up and off the tail subframe. easy peasy |

Remove the rear seat cowl, two T-27 bolts under the seat, then 5 T-27 bolts and the tailpiece is sitting on the back tire. Leave the lock cable connected and it's a pair of 13mm nuts on the back side of the signal stalk. I field strip mine for track days so there's less to tape up / damage. Don't be afraid to putt the body work off. If you have the bike very long, you'll get used to it. Get your hands dirty now and you'll know how the bike is put together for future reference. |

ok tried to squeeze my hand in rear tail light but seriously, you need to be oompa-loompa sized to make that work! Got seat off but had to leave for work so will finish off tonight - thanks again guys! |
