What is the method to clean the chain of rust? I too (well the bike anyways) had a wet ride home from MBIV. What do you use for a Good Chain Wax? Thanks! |

Nice, but it is a brake caliper and not a caliber. Sorry, couldn't resist.![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/biggrin2.gif) |

I use WD 40 and very fine steel wool to clean the chain. I could use a stronger rust solvent, but I don't want to dilute the lube inside the chain. For Chain wax, I use PJ 1, which seems to be very highly rated in various comparison tests, and works well for me. I try to oil the chain every 500 miles, and then wipe the chain well before riding to reduce the amount of lube that is slung off the chain. For some reason, this particular DID did rust more than the one I had before. The chain is a 520 ERV 3 which shows very little stretch. |

What model of Duc is the caliper from? Did you have to change the brake line from a banjo fitting/bolt to a flared fitting/line? I looked at the Buell rear caliper, it is too wide (to the swing arm side) to tuck it away like this, So changing the caliper is a must. |

I regret I may have to lock this thread. Speedy, you either need to become a sponsor, or sell your things through one of our sponsors. I was ok when you were selling for just the cost of materials, but I'm afraid you've crossed that line. If you wish to become a sponsor contact me through the e-mail I just sent you. If you'd rather sell through one of our sponsors, please go to the sponsor section, and work something out with them. Your work is really nice, and you've some good ideas. We just can't have you undermining our sponsors. Thanks for understanding. |
