Nuts- does this mean your Uly will be the first cross dresser? Sorry I just couldn't help myself. enjoy the Uly, sometimes it takes me 50 miles to get the 25 miles to work...occasionaly I didn't make it, told the boss it was a sickness that just came over me last minute. |

Got home from work yesterday to find out some jerk, probably a local crackhead had broken into my youngest son's car and stolen the cd player. What made it even worse, he destroyed the console while doing it. I'm sure it will take me an entire weekend to repair the damage assuming I can find everything at a junkyard. I've decided not to tell him till after his exams. He's alot like me. When he gets pissed, he stays pissed !I'm seriously thinking about getting another big boxer, maybe two. It has been around eight years since my last one died, so maybe it's time. I sure would feel safer at night. Sorry, just needed to blow off some steam. Kristi, I got the package from Jean today with her address, so everything is good. Thanks for letting me know. Later... |

Twig - sorry to hear about your son's car. Mean people suck. Glad you got your package from Jean. She's a nice lady. A cross-dressing Uly - that's funny. Guess since he lives on base, we shouldn't ask and he shouldn't tell? Hey Dora! Wish we were closer and Carlos wasn't doing final projects for school. Sounds like you're enjoying your travels. Be safe and post often! |

Dora, welcome back to the south. I thought you were in Asia? Anyway, I'll be at home this weekend. I've kids so I won't be doing much riding unless I can get my daughter to go out with me. You're welcome to stop by and say hello, it would be good to see you. |

U4euh - MBV laid a spanking on them and I got down to the wear bars inside of 1900 miles!!!??? I got a little better than that, but not much. The SA on the Uly lasted 2600 miles. I got the Contiforce and they did not last any longer. They SA did stick like glue though. On my little 600 mile jaunt to ride with Big Daddy to Blowing Rock and back, he was sliding around on the cold 40ish°F mountain roads while I was stuck down pretty good. But I have a real problem wearing out 1/4 the tread life of a tire in one day. That is so cool that Continental will send you a test tire. Pirelli did finally send us a replacement Strada that is on the Uly. So I guess when we ride together you can be the test dummy and I can be the crash dummy. |

Jinance-We would love to but I'm pulling a double header at AutoZone, we just fired one and another is on vacation! Twig-Sorry about his car, if there is anything I can do, let me know. Remember, AZ owns 1400 salvage yards also. Flynuly- told the boss it was a sickness that just came over me last minute. I think it is a sickness all of us around here have, congrats. M2nc- wasn't there an early 90's group called the 'CrashTest Dummies'? Too funny! |

I asked TJ this morning if she wanted to go for a ride. She blew me off. Later I drove the family to Southern Pines. She saw Mike's bike and thats all it took. I think she is a BMW fan.

Fun day Jim! Thanks for dropping by. I love your family! Gee, I could have tilted the bucket down a little and made your ride more comfortable. Doh! That was fun with TeeJay. She's awesome! (Message edited by rubberdown on April 15, 2007) |

Looks like you all have had a great day. If I wasn't so tired from it, I'd do a decent writeup. I was planning to spend the day laying around and surfing the internet. I decided that was lame and called Mike to see if we could come down. It was an awesome day. Notable events: 1 - Wonderful lunch 2 - First ride in a front end loader 3 - Jesse's first ride on a motorcycle 4 - TeeJay's first time driving a motorcycle. 5 - Jesse/TeeJay/Jim's first time feeding horses 6 - Rebecca got to pet 8 horses, 3 cats, and 2 dogs. 7 - Mike explained the birthing process to my son, who had lots of questions. 8 - We got to spread manure. Jim, The local RVFL chapter is putting together a dual sport group. Start saving that pocket change so you can get in on the madness that is sure to follow. When we start hitting the local washed out fire roads, rutty National Forest trails and abundance of tough creek crossings we would love to have you along to share in the excitement and of course, help us pick up the bikes when we drop them . |

Dual sport group? Jackie be careful what you wish for. You obviously have not seen Rubberdowns posts on Advrider lately! Brutha rails a 100hp dual sport! When he's not hosting Kaneman or Jinance that is. NUTS |

Flyn - I'm about to take a ride down your way. I'll be headed into angier on that road you told me about (210?) over to where it intersects highway 50. Then I'll take 50 back up to Raleigh. If you feel like riding, go the other way and perhaps I'll pass you. |

Still recovering from Friday the 13th (yes, this one was a doozie...) I checked my E-mail to find an E-mail from my Buell riding buddy in Germany. Included was a rendering of his awesome X1. The original is very large, so here's the adjusted picture:

Carlos - It wasn't so bad for most of the way. I went south on 55 and we hit on and off rain, but we were in the sun even when it was raining (I looked and failed to find a rainbow.) There were some very dark clouds in the sky though. I took back roads down toward Angier, and it wasn't until I got on 210 that the sky really opened up. It only lasted about 5 minutes, but it was enough to get us both quite wet. I got on I-40 at that point so I could utilize the 80 mph blow dryer effect. We did hit rain a few times on 40, but it was brief. We were pretty dry by the time we got home. |
