Hi all,

Long-time lurker, first-time poster here. I test rode a Firebolt a few years ago and I've toyed with the idea of a Buell ever since.

I got a flyer in the mail this week about demoing a Buell and getting a cool-looking messenger bag. The timing coincides with me looking for something to supplement my Sportster. But, the local HD dealership(s) dropped Buell about two years ago. When I search for Buell dealerships I find one in Northern Alabama, a few in Tenessee, and some more in Georgia. But then when I check their websites, it doesn't look they carry too much in the way of actual Buells...

Can anyone tell me if there are Buell dealerships in AL, GA or TN that actually carry Buells? I'd love to test ride an XB9SX or a Ulysses (with low seat)

I was at Rocket HD yesterday looking. They an XB12R, XB12S, XB12Ss, XB12Scg, a Uly and a XB9SX.

Now as far as how they are on prices, I was quoted 10,690 for the XB12Ss. I don't have a Buell yet but I am looking.

Jfor, I appreciate it. It's good to hear that about Rocket - they're the closest to me.

Did they seem knowledge-able/interested in the Buell brand? When the local HD dealerships carried them they kept the Buells stowed off to the side and didn't seem to care much about them

Now I am not gonna say they are end all be all of Buell's. The guy i talked to Chris Reeves was his name I think. He seemed knowledgeable about them. I don't know a whole lot about them except I want one hehe.

I have read about others on this board that had problems with their service department. They did have all their bikes out front when you walk in the door.

There is a dealer in Pensacola, FL that will demo ride, ask for Andrew. After this weekend you'll get a messenger bag as a spiff for the test ride.

There is a dealership in murfreesboro Tn, its called Bumpus HD/Buell they have quite a few buells in stock, they got some used ones too, dunno wich you are lookin for. But they do not treat buells like second class bikes, in fact they have them rite there on either side of the entrance to the showroom. I bought mine there and was happy w the experience and they seem to have some somwhat knowleageable buell techs there. I would reccomend them. The prices they have on the used buells are a lil on the high side tho but you can talk them down quite a bit once they see that you are serious and actually have the ability to pay them, I know thats what I did . Besides I dont think they sell too many buells so when the opportunity comes up to move one they are willing to jump thru a few hoops. Plus they have one of the race bikes sitting there with all the other buells that you can look at, and sit on, incase you havnt seen one in person yet. Good luck with your purchase.

I just got home with my new XB9SX. YEAH!

I rode up to Rocket yesterday and test rode the XB9SX, XB12S, XB12scg. I talked to Rick and George for a while. They seem pretty jazzed about the brand. They were getting a lot of interest in the Buells while I was there. We did some preliminary negotiating - once they saw I was seriously considering the bike, they were flexible.

They called me back up this morning and we negotiated some more...

Then I rode up (through some nasty weather) on my trade-in around lunch time and we did the deal. I ended up picking up the Buell Saddle and Tank bags too - pretty nifty. They had more folks in looking at the Buells today too.

I rode home in some cr@ppy weather , and every time the rain let up, the bugs came out in force. When I got home 140 miles later, the entire front of the bike was covered with bugs and the rest in mud. It looks like I went off-road riding with it.

Anyway, I am seriously stoked about this bike. Now I've got a bagged-out Sportster for taking the wife and kids riding on Sunday afternoons and the XB9SX for commuting and Saturday mornings. Yes!

Thanks to the two trips up to Madison and back I got in almost 600 miles riding in the last 48 hours. Fun, even if the weather in Alabama was totally nasty today.

Oh. The messenger bags are pretty nice. Definitely worth the time to take a test ride
