I put on a race air cleaner on my M2 a couple weeks ago, now I'm getting some oil splatter on my heat shield, mostly after highway riding. is this normal, or did i screw something up? |

Probably from your breather hoses--are they routed into your air cleaner? If so you are getting oil mist/puke into air cleaner from them. |

One more thing, the filter is cloth, if it was over oiled a bit, the spit back from the carb may be washing a bit of the oil out towards the rear of the element. Don't ask how I know how this might be the issue..... There "might" be a pair if jeans around here with an odd stain on the left inside knee area...... Brad |

...this is why the breather hose on my S1W is run to the back...and the filter is zip-tied to the passenger peg mount (unused - solo tail) on the left side. Keeps the puke off the white wheel, LOL. Next step, XB boxes.... In your case though, sounds normal enough. Especially at higher RPM / highway use. |
