SNOW?? Somebody needs to tell mother nature that it's spring. I'm tired of her fouling up the rides. |

Let us know what the plan is- I can call you in the morning with a local report. Anyone know somebody in the Jemez area we can call? I don't care about the temps, just don't like ice in the shady corners. |

I've talked to acouple of people in Los Alamos, they had the same kind of weather that we had here in SF. Snow/rain mix, but in the Jemez it was snow. From the report that I got it wasn't stickin to the road in most places, but it might be a slick in the shady areas. If the sun is out tomorrow, it shouldn't be a problem, but if it is cold and cloudy it will likely be icy in spots up there. |

You guys might want to postpone the ride until next weekend. The forecast for Jemez is rain/snow showers until noon and then thunderstorms the rest of the day. It rained off and on all night at work and hovered around freezing so I'd bet that road is slick up there. Next weekend is showing a much better forecast. |

I just talked to Murrae and Kim on the phone. There isn't snow in SF, but it's been raining here most of the night in rio and everthing is wet and it's cold. It's dark and cloudy over the Jemez right now. Given that I'm on the verge of needing a new front tire, I'm not inclined to push it. And I think most of us are uncomfortable riding on snow and/or ice just because, so... I'm not going. Sorry for the last minute decision. I think Joel is right and we may have a good shot at getting out next weekend. If so, I think I'll be up for that. I'll keep everyone posted. |

You are correct Kim. As long as I'm back in time to go to work, I should be able to attend. I'll spend all week clearing it with the family. Maybe if all works out, the wifey will be able to come along too. |

Hey Impulsespcg, we have a couple of hats at the store one blue and one black both adjustable not fitted. They are both nice, nothing outragous. I have the blue hat, more baseball cut style with the oval Buell insignia. Come on up to SF for a ride sometime, looks like we have some new shirts with the Pegasus in stock also. Later |

I am officially cleared for riding on Sunday. Tell me time and place and I'll be there. CJ, you want to meet for the ride up? 66 at the corner of 550 and 528? |

Rude, Thanx for the update - I almost made it to SF during a N-14 run last thurs. I turned to the 25 after Madrid - Had I known about your new gear the forces would have been irresistable!! I'll be looking for another opportunity for certain! Imp |

How many Uly riders are tentative for Sunday? Would you guys like to go over 126 by Fenton Lake and into Cuba and then down 550? I personally like that road. Lots of different surfaces and scenary and those large sweepers when it turns paved again are awesome. |

Can you help a brother out? I'll be in town in late June for a short while. I have rented sportsters from Eagle Rider there in the past. They are no longer around. I guess we no longer qualify for Fly & Ride. Can anyone there point me in the direction of a rental in ABQ? Going by bike is the best way to go there. Thanks. |

Check with Thunderbird HD/Buell, formerly Chicks. I think they still rent bikes. |

You should be able to qualify for Fly & Ride. I think you have to be a HOG member for that, but if you were a BRAG member, you can join HOG. Does anyone know if they are giving a free year of HOG with a new Buell the way they did with the BRAG membership? Do they do that for new Harley's? Either way, I know you can join HOG and qualify for Fly & Ride. I know Thunderbird still rents bikes and I'm thinking Santa Fe might also. For a small deposit of $10K, I'll rent you one. |

The forecast still look good, but a little cold for the weekend so I'm game as long as the snow/rain crap stops. Otherwise, I can't get the bike thru the mud to pavement to go riding. |

Not as cold as it was yesterday.... Mid April and it snowed all day here, yesterday. At least is wasn't sticking to the pavement. By tomorrow the roads should be dry. Does anyone know what time yet? |

I got an email from the CO group, asking if anyone had plans to make it up there for the Lake City ride or the Gateway ride. They had the Gateway resort call about rooms there are only a few left, see the msg below. I can't do Lake City this year, but wish I could, it was a really great ride. The CO group is great to hang with, and willing to meet me at a easy to find spot. Since I'd never been there or met any of them before. Really great guys! I tryin' to get the time off for Gateway. I won't know for another week or so. ---------------------------------------- Hey Murrae , Hey Kim, Any of our New Mexico littermates making any noises about the Lake City or Gateway weekends? I know there will be a pile of us coming down for the Taos weekend in August. I`m assuming it will be at the Sagebrush again? Also I think maybe we should try to persuade Chick into coming along for some of these rides. I know he`s got a new Triumph and he might feel out of place on it. I don`t think anyone would really care what he rode as long as he was there. Anyway, make those Gateway reservations soon. Talk to me soon, Thanks Dave David Kaminen ----- Original Message ----- From: David Kaminen Sent: 4/12/2007 9:16:43 PM Subject: Couple of things,,, Hello All, I recieved a phone call today from the reservation desk at Gateway Canyons Resort. I was reminded that April 15, the last of the "blocked rooms" will go back into general inventory and be then available to anyone. There are 2 of the original 6 remaining. I was told that there are some other groups that are interested in those rooms as soon as they are available ,so I don`t expect them to last long. My advice,,, if you wanna go,,,, call before Sunday the 15th. The dates are June 15-16-17 Mention Colorado Thunder Club to get one. The reservation desk phone # is (970)-931-2458 and the website is www.gatewaycanyons.com |

I might be able to swing Lake City, but definitely cannot do Gateway. For tomorrow, I think that we should meet at a more normal time, like 0930 at SFHD/B. I have a birthday party to attend for a two year old at 1500, so I need to hustle through the day. I may skip the lunch stop and boogie right home. As long as it's dry I'm good. I normally don't mind wet, but wet and cold doesn't translate well for me. |

I've got all heated gear so cold doesn't bother me one bit. The yard and the roads have dried up here enough to get the bike out all ready so I'm good. I too prefer the earlier ride so I can be back in time to be at work. CJ, what time you want to meet at the 66 for the ride up? |

Hey guys, sorry I didn't make the ride. I was hoping someone could help me with a question. I was reaching under my bike to secure it's cover when i noticed this this. Any idea what it might be? It's attached to my bike sorta in the strap that supports the exhaust. I can honestly say I've never seen it until recently. I suspect it isn't for anything important, but i've had lots of stuff shake apart on it since i bought it last July. Thanks, Alex |

Hello all, how was the ride today? I came real close to faking a hamstring injury at SFHD/Buell this morning so they would send me home then I could pick up my S1W and go riding with you all. CJ I forgot to mention to you this morning that you may want to place a drop of Locktite on the remaining fairing screws or give them a snug check if you haven't already done so. Ride Safe! |
