This is not the biggest of decisions but its a little annoying unless I get it off my chest. Im trading my city X for an scg - I wanted cherry bomb but the dealer has a wait time of 6 weeks !! I can take an Orange from the showroom now but - the next choice for me would've been the black. Its torture not being able to ride for 6 weeks or more - so im getting the itchy feet & thinking to just go for Orange... but they a black 12s also - is it possible to put the black plastics & wheels from the 12s on the 12scg ? anyway just thought I'd get some opinions . Also what does a black 12 look like with orange wheels - any pics anywhere? thinking i could just ride an orange for awhile then get black plastics later. cheers |

Bodywork is very reasonably priced, and quickly interchangeable. I know what you mean about the itch; I want to ride every chance I get! Buy and ride, then refresh your bike later. You can always sell the color you don't like because people are always swapping out bodywork.. |

The Valencia Orange Translucent is the best color. I am working to transform mine as close as possible. Unfortunately, the Uly front faring doesn't come in translucent or I would have it. See if the dealer will make you a deal for $250 less for the one on the floor. That way you have the money for he new black tins if you decide to get them later. |

Find another dealer that has the bike you want. Rent a car, hitch a ride, get plane tickets, what ever to where ever, then ride home! |

Wait a minute... You're freaking about 6 weeks? Why not put a deposit down on the one you want and then trade your CityX in when the bike comes in??? Don't jump on a color you don't want. I almost did that the last time I bought a bike and I'm glad I didn't. |

Black with orange wheels looks awesome IMHO. See my profile for an example on a lightning long. |

6 weeks is a long time - when you ride everyday. I guess im trying figure - whether having orange plastics or red plastics are gonna be make much differenc later down the line. Its not like some jap bikes with a whole color scheme - so Im thinking get the bike now & change up some plastics later. My 1st choice is the Cherry Bomb - I just like that color & the red wheels but 6 weeks is long time to be without a bike( Im selling my city x this week) so I guess im just itching save the downtime. Buells clever color code with these bikes means - its not such a huge overhaul to change color schemes but the wheels are quite major to change - Midnight black would be the best option as black goes with everthing. Thats why - Im wondering whether - they could swap over the black plastics & wheels from a 12s to the orange 12scg ? I guess - if not - then wait - I will getting the train - is sooooooo not cool . |

There's one at the Pensacola, FL. Buell Dealer that they are looking to make a deal on. Looks like that may be a bit of a long commute for you, Moondust. There may be someone here in the states that's looking for one. |

I think I'd wait on your cherry bomb cause it's a freakin' beautiful color scheme. I didn't much care for it till I saw it in person. Plus, at the end of your six weeks, you'll be itching real bad and enjoy your new ride even more. |

Love my Orange, hard to tell about the color of the wheels because they are always dirty, but they are black as coal underneath. Black is the most versatile. 6 weeks to ride? I was jones-in after two days of straight rain. My gear didnt dry fast enough.... that was too tough for me. When you get the urge, gotta scratch it. |

Cherry Bomb is definitely worth the wait. On Edit: If you jump on the orange now, how much you wanna bet that you'll be kicking yourself in the derrier six weeks from now? (Message edited by metalstorm on March 25, 2007) |

Color of the bike doesn't matter one bit when you're riding it. |

Seems like you bought the city x 2fast. Don't make the same mistake twice. Get what you want, 6 weeks isn't bad at all. Unless you could get them 2 switch the black one's over. I think they should and can. Do they really want 2 lose the sale??? |

with the translucent orange, the wife calls it her tootsie pop bike. you'd have the same thing with the red to so what difference does it make now or later, she'll still call them a tootsie pop bike red or orange. go get the thing now and that will give you something to think about when your out riding instead of inside wondering if. |

I like the cherry bomb wheels better than the amber ones. Personally, I'd wait, but that's just me ~SM |

Nemo, I was drooling over that cherry bomb bike a few weeks ago. They salesmen didn't seem to care. It's possible that I'll be getting a fat bonus check this week for my last couple of ships. I just keep going back and forth between fixing up the S2 or getting an XB. But any way Back on Topic The Cherry Bomb is beautiful in person. I thought the Black ones looked good but the Cherry Bomb is a winner. |

Jaimec you're wrong. The blue is the best handling lightning they ever made and you can't get it anymore. But I've got one. |

We all know Black is the fastest color. Plus it has stealth. If you want it to go faster you have to put flames on it! Once I'm done doing just that, I'll post a pic so you can all see how fast it is! |

If you want that Cherry Bomb, Andrew told me that that were looking to deal on it, like OTD for less than MSRP What boats are you working on ? We have a dive crew over there surveying the basin they sink the heavylift barge in for oil rigs, etc. |

Wow, tough choice. I'm the type to ride now and change later... Yes, changing the wheel color is a big... but changing the bike color is just a few bucks. I have a red XB with the amber wheels... and I can't make up my mind what color I want next. There are so many color combinations, ya might come up with your own later, right? I'd ride now and color later!! |

Thanks for the tip, Nemo. And check out the poker run for Teryn (katana IT girl) Women's Football Team this saturday. I'm going to post details on the Quick Board. Oh, and I'm on the N. Resolution right now. It's a heap. Back on Subject... I think switching the wheels to black or red would be harder and more expensive than other colors. You might be able to find black ones on eBay or here in the classifieds. I think more people are switching from orange to black than black to orange. Also since the red wheels haven't been out long I doubt you'll see many of those up for sale or trade. So look at spending around $750(retail) for Red Wheels ($700 for Black) minus, of course , what you can get for the orange wheels. (Message edited by Not_Purple_S2 on March 28, 2007) |

Get the orange bike. You'll be fightin' off the chicks for sure. Orange handles the best, goes the fastest handles like a champ and is self cleaning. |

I've decided to wait on the cherry . The orange I was talking about was the Valencia Orange - I think the sunset orange is a little cooler than the valencia but cherry still gets my gut in a knot I was put off the amber wheels after seeing some pics with the amber blasted off around the rims. Im guessing they all will probably do that later on but neverless the cherry is tha bomb . |

Great choice on waiting for the cherry!!The wheels are absolutely beautiful. The t-orange is ok, but doesnt go well with the gold wheels. The colors just dont do each other justice. Those gold rims need a solid color. The t-orange need black rims...or something other than the gold. |

Good decision. It's much better to wait for what you really, truly, deeply want. Why settle for less? I second Grlryder, the cherry bomb wheels are absolutely beautiful. |

I was wanting a 2007 XB12Scg Cherry Bomb ... but when the dealer had a left over 2006 XB12Scg in Translucent Orange for $8345 ... I decided that Cherry wasn't worth the extra $2k to me ... he wouldn't come off the sticker on 2007 models. I have seen the Cherry in person ... it's pretty sweet and I keep telling myself I'm happy with the Orange. Besides ... I just spent $1500 on mods (D&D pipes, Custom ECM Map, 2007 air box cover and K&N, Right Side Scoop, Drummer Oil Catch Can, etc) to the bike and I'm still under what the Cherry Bomb would have cost me. |

I have the Cherry Bomb Red and I have to say I have never loved the look of any Buell more. I'm not a fan of the orange and too many Buells have orange in their scheme. Just think of all the past Buells with a variation of orange. |

If it's red people will think it's a Ducati. As far as I know, only Laverda (before Buell) was associated with orange bikes... |
