I have heard/read a number of complaints about the kickstand. From falling off the bike to the bike falling off the stand when parked, to just flat failing. Is there an alternative????? |

2 different issues. 1=sidestand recall on the Uly. 2=Don't park the bike on a downslope. Mine has fallen over 2 times idling in my driveway as I put on my gear. Buell does not have a sidestand lock pin to prevent this. My Dyna has never had this problem, you just need to face the bike on the incline... |

A friend of mine mentioned grinding the metal down a little from the area that the stand contacts at the top when extended to allow it to go a little further. (am I explaining that well enough?) The bike will lean a little bit more, but it would be harder for the stand to slip. Just an idea. |

On the new stands, there is a pin that extends from the pivot bolt. The spring/bracket rests against it such that if you ride off with it down, it returns the kickstand to a straight position so that it can kick back if/when the kickstand touches the ground. You can grind down the pin to defeat this so the bike is not so easy to tip over when at rest but you defeat the ride off safety feature/function. |

You can get a replacement kit from your friendly HD/Buell dealership. I picked one up for my 04 12s for $48.00 Dawg |
