Ok, finally got my bike up here with me at Ft. Gordon. Anyone near there that could show me the roads in this place? |

Cataract2... Athens is about an hour and a half from Augusta. But if you feel like making out this way hit me up and I can show you around. Or we can just sit at a bar and check out the scenery! That's what I love about these college girls man. I get older they stay the same age. |

If I'm not on duty, I will make an attempt to make it. Do you have to register? Just looked up the distance to it. Not to far from here, about 179 miles. Only problem is it's all HWY riding so it will take some time. (Well HWY riding isn't a total problem in terms of views...) Although, if I could meet you in Athens and we rode from there to it that would be great. (Message edited by Cataract2 on March 19, 2007) |

Cat, I rode to March Badness from Grovetown, (I was at the advanced course at Gordon and owned a house off Columbia Road) in 2005. It's not a bad ride. Go through Athens, and you can keep to back roads. If you want some decent roads around Gordon, go north on Washington, past all the housing developments, and you'll head towards and around Strom Thurmond lake. There are some quiet little back roads up there. I'd say stay in Columbia county rather than Richmond county... |

Cataract2, Welcome to Gordon. Not a lot of us Buell owners on the road here in Augusta. The dealers pretty good though at taking care of the few of us here. I have a ride planned for the 30th up to Helen with a group of others. Perhaps you can join us. Kurt |

Kur, how far are you located from Ft. Gordon? I see you live in Martinez. |

Cataract2 I work on Gordon over in BackHall. Martinez is sort of northwest of Augusta. About 15 miles at the most from Gate 2. |

If you're ever in Ft Benning, PM me... I'm in Columbus. No great roads around here, but you can hang out with me and the Captains of Industry at our favorite pub. The company isn't so bad if you aren't that picky. |

Kurbennett... If you are going to be in Helen on the 30th you gotta come over to TWO for MBIV! It is the best Buell event of the year. Check out the March Badness IV thread on the Quickboard for more info.

I had really planned on doing MB4 this year but the wife has me scheduled for something else on Saturday. May try and get up there on Sunday at least for the day and check it out. Have rode around the area a lot but never been over to Two Wheels. My first year with the Buell and think it sure would be neat to try out a Buell event. |

Sorry I haven't been able to post for a bit. Internet is down in the building that I work in. Anyways, Kur, do you know of any good bike nights around this place? I can't seem to find any info on not one. Also, I know where BackHall is, don't think I've ever seen a Uly. riding around base yet. Seen some Blasts. Got a new Blast rider from this area to sign up to the forum though. Sean, I will take a ride out that way this weekend if the weather is good. Where are you stationed now? Kur, if you are free this weekend. Any chance we could meet up for some riding. Maybe show me the area a bit? |

The high school I went to was on Victory Drive. The first real job I ever had was as a dishwasher at the Black Angus on Victory Drive. I got hit in the head with a pistol on Victory Drive... by a woman! Yeah, I spent a lot of time on Victory Drive, but only as a teen. I'm not hard core Columbus, though... I left in 1980, came back in 2001 and got trapped here. I'm still trying to leave. |

Cat, I'm at Fort McPherson now. It's a little tiny post in downtown Atlanta. It's total REMFville - half the post is taken up by a golf course. Are you in AIT, or are you done with that? |

Sean, I was in AIT as an MOS-I. I graduated back in Feb. and got moved to the perm. party barracks awaiting additional training in my MOS 25S. So, now I'm an MOS-T here. Much better now with no DS. |

So, ah.... This kinda died. Was trying to keep it up for more info. Oh, did a ride out to the Strom Thurmond Lake area. Didn't know there was a dam there. Cool ride. |

Yeah, getting out from under the DS's is a great feeling. I was just at Gordon last month for a four-day FTX / range week. I miss that place - lots of good memories, mostly because I had no responsibility! Where will you PCS when you finish all your MOS training? |

Where will you PCS when you finish all your MOS training? Not quite certain. I won't know until I finish my training. Complete it successfully and I'll only have 6 stations to which I can go. |

You're a satellite technician or something, right? If so, I bet one of the stations is Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. I'd take that if possible - it's easy duty, tax-free, and you can get some deployment time under your belt right away. |

With 1C tacked onto my MOS tag Kuwait won't be a place I'll go. Instead of handling just the signal to the satellite. I'll be in charge of the satellite itself. I'll have 2 stations in Maryland, Colorado Springs, CA, Japan and Germany. |
