I was wondering if anyone has any experience with a D&D, or Remus pipe on an XB9. How does it run and sound? how loud? Most of my riding is done between 3000 and 5500 RPMs, so I wanted something that made good power in that range without sacrificing power anywhere else. I also dont want it to be too obnoxiously loud . Thanks. |

I haven't heard or seen a Remus, but from what you've said above it's what you're looking for. The Remus is "E" marked, which means it's quiet enough for Euro streets. It also has inserts you can take out if you want to rip it up a bit, and/or be a bit louder. The D&D is a very loud pipe. No way to make it quieter either. The D&D does make really good power especially in the mid to upper range. I'd have a D&D if they were a bit quieter. |

The D&D is what you get if you're an attention wh*re like me. As far as the power goes, the D&D makes great mid-range power. If I'm not mistaken, it makes more in the mid-range then any other pipe out there. The low-end won't change much at all and the top-end drops off faster then the stock pipe. (I believe, it's been awhile since I've read the muffler shoot out.) |

The shootout at American Sportbike has been my main source for info in my search. I bought a Special OPS pipe recently, but felt it was a little loud, and the midrange was a bit weak. From idle to 3500 RPM, and 5000 to 7000 RPM it was great, but 3500 to 5000 it felt dead. I have not given up on the Special OPS pipe yet. Odie offered to buy it back, but I decided to see if I could modify it to get what I wanted from it. I am currently in the process of doing that, but thought I would try to get some insight on other options in case I cant get this pipe to work for me. Sounds like the D&D is louder than I want. Thanks for the help, this sight is a great resource for "real world" answers. |

Why dont you listen to a Drummer SS it is louder than stock for sure but its deeper more of a louder thumping and it pulls hard all the way through the RPM range no flat spots.I can sneak out of my house early Sunday morning on a slow idle with no complaints from my neighborhood yet.The D & D is WAY LOUD !!!! |

I've got the REMUS & it rocks!! Exactly what I wanted for my 9SX - nice low thumpin / bass 'n' Growl - it feels like the Termi cans on my previous bike Ducati M750. I think you should opt for a stainless steel can if you going to change a can at all - the drummer SS would be great - the waiting list is long tho - I got my remus from Matt at Trojan - and I love the Remus the twin pipe stainless system rocks ! I couldn't be happier- especially when scooting about London traffic. Go for the Remus or the HP Oval from Trojan - you will not be disapointed. The d&d is a bit risky unless you see & hear one in the flesh. My 2nd choice after the remus would probably be the Micron but I couldn't be bothered with all the extra work & £££. REMUS is the BOMB! or Sebring as its known stateside. |

I've got a D&D on my XB9S and I love it. In my opinion, it works great all through the RPM range. Yeah, it's loud, but it's a good kind of loud. These are Harley engines, they're supposed to be loud. I always get compliments on the way it sounds, even from ricer-squids. |

I want a nice throaty sound, but not too loud...I dont want to attract the policeThey are currently on a campaign to write more tickets. Moondust- how loud is the Remus without the inserts, and what is the performance difference with them in ? |

I haven't taken out the inserts - as its sounds loud enough for me as it is - the power is a lil better but I don't really notice now I've gotten used it. I would say the response is a lil tighter but frankly - the full throaty bass sound you get, fools you in to thinking its more powerfull...maybe. Whatever - it was definitely an improvement on the bike overall - it just added a hairy chest & bigger balls. with stock can - with remus can |

I've had the Remus for two seasons mainly for track use. I run it without the inserts and it's good except the ground clearance could be better. Make sure you get the model for track use it has shorter tail pipes (if you are going to use it on the track) Be careful running it with the inserts in place and on the standard ECM as it will run lean in the mid range. Remus seem to be a good company and certainly dealt very honourably with me when the ground clearance on track became an issue and they gave me a modified replacement pipe. Remus = Sebring in the USA by the way. Hope this helps but pm me if you want more info, I have dyno charts somewhere. |

Thanks for the info, the Remus sounds like a nice pipe. If I cant get my current pipe to work out, I will have to give it some serious thought. |
