I do a lot of drag racing, what clutches should i use? No wheelie bars, or extension just slip the clutch, so i'm not banging the transmission during launches. I've used stock clutches for 2 couple years and they just started slipping last summer. Oh ya one other important thing i'm going with the 90" kit. |

When anyone replaces a clutch on a Buell (and it does not happen often) they should save the plates that don't have the friction material on them. They are great for helping out the folks here that have had a spring plate failure. It seems to happen around the 15,000 to 30,000 mile range. I bought a full set of lightly used plates eBay that had come out of a low mileage chopper donor Buell and those were used to replace spring plates on three BadWeb Buells. I think Tramp figures he has something like 215,000 miles on a stock clutch and it is still going fine. Of course those Old School guys know that it pays in the long run to be kind to your clutch. I guess just go with Barnett clutch plates, eliminate spring plate and update to heavy duty diaphram spring. Don't see the need for the scorpion or pro clutch. Thanks for the replies. |
