Didn't find much with a search even of the XB board. Seems the tuber shocks leaked a lot. And some found shops that could rebuild, but most replaced them. The XB shocks seem OK as far as leaks. I'm not noticing any problems, but at the same point I tend not to notice the slow decline of suspensions wearing out. So I'm curious, is there a shop(s) that can rebuild the Uly's shock? Stock specs is fine. Or if not, anyone know of a suspension shop that's selling a shock/spring speced for the Uly? |

Traxxion Dynamics may be able to do it to. www.traxxion.com I've also talked to Klaus at Wilbers and they have a rear shock solution custom designed for the Uly. |

Any details from Klaus? I don't have much of an issue with the stock one, and like having the adjusters in the "stock" locations rather than trying to make something fit. Was more thinking that I "rebuilt" the front forks, what about the rear... Trackside is just up the road from me! |

Yep...I got a bunch of details from Klaus. I posted them here, but was respectfully notified that the post was a violation of the sponsor policy since I mentioned a group buy. If you want the particulars, shoot me an email. |

What can I say, I was sharing the wealth...er ah...well, maybe trying to help people not send so much of their wealth to Wilbers. LOL!! It's a great shock. Loved the one on my FJR. |

Their is a very nice looking Ohlins replacement shock in the Touratech catalog, if you are into that gold blingy look. Looks like a drop in replacement though with the remote preload and reservoir. Not sure about pricing/availability though as it is not listed on the TT usa website. It is part# 044-0414, pg 486 in the 2006 TT catalog. |

Well after a nice run around in TN and NC, it's clear, the rear shock on my Uly isn't what it used to be. I tweaked up the damping a bit to get things in control, but I'm looking at a rebuild/replacement before I make the run out to Utah in mid-May. FYI, Trackside's info (from Javadog in another thread): Ed Kwaterski Trackside Engineering, LLC (262) 366-0591 I called and left him VM. Hope to hear back soon. Didn't see the Ohlins shock in the TT online catalog, maybe they removed it? Looks like Klaus is having some issues with Wilbers? http://bmwsporttouring.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php /Cat/0/Number/843379/an/0/page/0#Post843379 I've also got a call into Al to see what hsi options are. After I hear back from Ed I'll go from there. |
