Does anyone know what size the nut on the top of the fork cap is? The preload adjuster is 22mm, and the cap is larger than that. I got it loose with an adjustable wrench but it was awfully hard on the aluminum cap. I'd like to get a deep well socket to use with my torque wrench. Any help?

Thanks,
Schmitty

32mm. Most sockets will mar the finish of the caps. A better tool is the Showa fork cap wrench available from Motowheels.com. It fits the cap precisely. You don't need a torque wrench on the caps. Snug is more than adequate; when the top clamp pinch bolts are tightened, the cap cannot come loose.
