Hi all. Have a concern that HD of Brandon has looked at but unsure of the cause. I've got a strong fuel smell from my Uly almost all the time when the bike is parked. Full of fuel or well past the low level light coming on. It's not right after filling, but always. Most usually on hot days, but even here in Florida, during cold evenings. I can put my face right on the vent tube and not smell anything. The Buell tech at my dealership couldn't find anything specific and thinks it might have been a loose hose at the bottom of the air box which he clamped down. Anyone else with a fuel smell regardless of how much fuel is in the tank? Thanks in advance. |

How's your mileage? COuld be leaky injectors... |

Never had any problems like that. Have you removed your air box cover and bottom plate to have a look? |

Air box and plate pulled. That's were the tech found the loose hose. Mileage is just under 9k. Tech also checked injectors and found no evidence of a leak there. So far tonight, after another run through the hills and valleys of Florida, I can't detect a smell. It'll pop up when I least expect it. |

Check your over flow vent hose for blockage, it could hold back excess gas from a fill up and leak off slowly. |

Mine has pretty much always done this too. I assumed it was normal as my buddy's Uly does the same. (Message edited by paochow on February 25, 2007) |
