Just found this from some research I did for Reg years ago. Putting it here for your guys' use.

From some research I did last year.....(see page #46 of Battle 2Win Spring 1997)

There are 3 Buell wheels that have appeared since 1995. (There are more from the days when Erik sold wheels and leathers to make ends meet but that's another story)

The 3 wheels are:

MARCHESINI - Cast wheels used for a couple years that can be identified by the "M" cast on one of the spokes. There should be a sticker that reads "Marchesini" but many missed getting this.

CASTALLOY - The now standard cast wheels come from Harley-Davidson's supplier in Australia, are virtually identical to the Marchesini to the eye.

PERFORMANCE MACHINE - Commonly referred to as "PM's" these are a polished aluminum wheel that (and I love'em) insure you have a weekend project once every 3 months.

The skinny on these fat rims is as follows:

MARCHESINI -
Front: 3.5" wide and weighs 10# and 8.0 ounces
Rear: 5.0" Wide and weighs 14# and 15.0 ounces

CAST ALLOY -
Front: 3.5" wide and weighs 10# and 15.0 ounces
Rear: 5.0" Wide and weighs 15# and 10.5 ounces

PERFORMANCE MACHINE -
Front: 3.5" wide and weighs 12# and 0.0 ounces
Rear: 5.5" wide and weighs 15# and 6.5 ounces

Thoughts: Beyond the aesthetics, I run the PM's on bikes like "Barney" to accommodate the Dunlop D364's (now the D207) DOT legal race tires that come in sizes that will fit the 5.5" rim, but not a 5.0" rim.
