I bought the wind deflectors for the CityX/Uly and plan to install them on my M2. Assuming they work - will probably put them on my XB12R and maybe the Blast (am a Buell family). I can't figure out how to connect them to the pivot point on the brake/clutch. The Motor Company has these as metric bolts (ouch again). Has anyone done this? What is the best way to fasten the inside part of the wind deflector? |

If you buy ALL the HW that is on the CityX, they go right on. You need the pivot shaft, pivot shaft risers, etc. The diameters are all the same, just the lengths are different. I include all the HW in the handguard kit here:http://www.americansportbike.com/shop/cgi-bin/cp-a pp.cgi?usr=51F4555371&rnd=4534978&rrc=N&affl=&cip= 71.136.98.13&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=17111&cat=&cats tr=, but you already have the hand guards. DISCLAIMER I have no affiliation with American Sport Bike. That being said - CRAP! I bought the deflecters from my local dealer. He promptly screwed up the order and did NOT get the correct bolts to attach ordered. Amazing. If I had gone to American Sport Bike - I would already have my parts (all of them) and most likely have them installed. Al - I will be bugging you for more than special stuff from now on.

Update on my saga on the handguard kit: Local Dealer A is where I ordered everything. He screwed up and failed to order the right bolts (which are essential). No apologies - just a statement to the effect picking the parts out of the parts catalog is difficult when we don't know the parts well Got mad. Went to Local Dealer B. They were GREAT! Took my money no problem for the missing bolts ($36 worth - yeah - for bolts). Dealer called today: good news/bad news. Part of your order is back ordered until 12/11. Moral of the story - call Al. I KNOW I will. |

Ordered mine from Eagle HD here in Lafayette, IN. No problems getting them. Next time you order look at the parts book with them, two heads are better than when when looking at diagrams Getting ready to install them right now actually. The only obstacle will be getting the left side to work with my cheap ($11) mountain bike bar end mirror. Will post pics when done! Good luck with yours! I hope they help as much as I think they will on these cold days, leaving more time for ridin' |

Very nice! I need to get a decent camera and post some pics. I love my wind deflectors. I live in Seattle - they are GREAT at taking some of the rain off your hands. |
