http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/179106.html?1153707564 Take what you can from this. Most people fatten the pilot-jet to a 45 or 48 and shim the stock needle. 195 or 200 seems to be the norm for the main-jet. 2 1/2 turns out is a good baseline for the idle mixture screw. Adjust to your own conditions, of course. |

I live and ride at 4,500 foot elevation here in Nevada. Start with a 45 secondary/slow speed jet and leave the main jet alone. That should do it. If the bike still coughs at slower speeds to half throttle, (WHEN WARMED UP!) it means you need a larger secondary. Try a 48. If @ full throttle and at speed it coughs and feels anemic you will need to bump up the main jet to about 180. Mind you this test is done WELL over the speed limit at full throttle!!! Don't go crazy with larger jets as too large a jet does NOT get you more power. The above should work for you. Check the plugs after a good ride of about 50 miles. If they are dusted with black soot your jets are too large. Remember secondary jet controls fuel up past 1/2 throttle. main controls fuel about 1/3 throttle to full throttle. |

"you will need to bump up the main jet to about 180." I think just about all 2000 M2's were delivered with 200 main-jets. I think it even specifies a 200 in the 1999/2000 M2 service manual. |
