I know this has been covered over and over but....... Everyone go out to their bikes NOW, check your sidestands. Just found mine was pretty loose. :-/ Better another annoying check your sidestand thread than another "My bike just fell over!" thread. |

A dab of blue locktite on the threads(and a little grease on the pivot surface) will do ya! (Message edited by diablobrian on January 11, 2007) |

Mine has been loose so long I quit caring, 35k on the odometer. I did replace the bolt and arm once under warranty tho. I got bigger problems than that right now............

Walking yes but I have a broken neck. No surgery or halo thankfully, just a brace for 8 weeks. I dont remember anything but the tankslapper. I am sure I was doing a wheelie through a little kink in my road. Long story short I lowsided into a ditch, hit the Drain tube and flipped over a driveway. Sorry for the hijack...... The real bitch is I did a track day in the rain two days before and was learning to slide, at high speed too. Get on the street for less than a mile and this happens. Ouch man! Glad to hear you are ok. I'm sure it'll get rebuilt better than ever. |

Ouch! Glad you are in (relatively) good shape! Did you rip a frame puck off during the accident? Looks like there used to be one there. |

Did you rip a frame puck off during the accident? yup! The frame is not useable, the lower steering bearing shattered and gouged out the frame, I dont trust it. I had Erik sign that frame so it will get hung up in the barn. |

I assume you had your gear on since you came out of it as well as you did? I'm glad that you are up and around and in very good shape (considering) |

How cool would it be if you could send your crash damaged bike back to the factory for refurbishment like Ferrari. Last year some bigwig CEO crook crashed his STOLEN Ferrari at over 200 mph. The dealer in LA said they could crate the parts and send it back to be rebuilt. Who know's the cost? Anyway, I'm glad your ok. I've broken 14 bones and my back once. I hardly limp when I walk. Bones heal, bikes are replaceable/ repairable and chicks dig scars. |
