I'm "back dating" my shifter linkage. I can't seem to get the arm that slides onto the actual "knob" that protrudes out of the case off. Any suggestions? |

Take the lock bolt completly out. Use a screwdriver to wedge in the slit and it should come off. |

What do you mean by "back dating"? Are you installing a 'boomerang' shifter? |

Wedging anything in the slit to try to expand it has been known to cause that part to break in the past. It has a very narrow range of movement as far as gripping and relaxing, trying to spread can break it. Use a battery post puller or something similar and it will come off if the bolt is removed first. Jack |
