(2000 M2 Cyclone) I've worked on this bike too much over the past month to have to ask this... I feel like an idiot! How the heck do I drain the oil outa this thing??? I'm laying under it looking, all I see is the primary chain adjuster and the primary drain bolt! Where is the drain plug??? (soooorrryyy)  | ||

There's a hose from the tank that ends on the frame behind your left boot. I'll shoot you a picture... Be sure to fill the new filter before screwing it on! | ||

Mike: Look for a rubber line coming out of the oil tank, it ends up on the left side of the bike, down by the swing arm. At least, tha't how my S1 is set up,I think the M2's are the same. There's an aluminum plug in the end, held on by a clip, that's the drain line for the motor oil. rt | ||

I took the dipstick out... didn't help much. I know I should of warmed it up first. Just slipped my mind. Won't next time tho! All is done! | ||

I wedged a screw driver between the tube and the frame to hold it away from everything. It worked great.... Then I took the filter off. Even with plastic under it, EVERYTHING still got soaked. Blah! | ||

If you poke a hole in the filter and let it drain first, it'll be easier to change without making a huge mess. I use the long HD filter and it's even easier because the filter sticks out far enough to miss the engine when it's draining. I do this with my car and truck filters, too. I have a special poking tool I use specifically for this (an old flathead screwdriver). | ||

i took a gallon milk jug, and cut the bottom (kind of a scoop looking thing) out to fit around the filter, and i just pop the filter loose and let it drain onto the top of the jug (with the cap still on!) not much mess to worry about. | ||

Use a piece of 3/4" conduit about 12-18" long for the hose. I hardly ever get oil on the frame from it that way. The filter is another thing. |
