I have a 99 S3 that just had a race ECM installed at a dealer about a month ago. I have noticed lately, past week or so,that it is getting more and more difficult to start when cold. I must have had to crank it four or five times before she caught, and then she ran on one for about 30 seconds. The temperature was 53 degrees. Once warm she starts with no problem, and since I let her warm up for a good amount of time she runs great. Anyone have any thoughts? I make sure to let the fuel pump run before I ever cranker her over. Thanks Matt |

The fuelie Buells don't have an enrichener circuit. On my 99' S3T and 00' X1 I usually crack the throttle slightly and let it warm up. If the weather is staying cool I'll crank the idle knob and bring it up a touch. If this doesn't help then your Dealer may have not set the TPS or AFV correctly. Give it a try and let me know what happens. Ride more, Lean more, Grin more. Neil S. |
